Default Tear Down That Wall . . . of Silence

Michael Walsh at American Greatness. Developing facts, courtesy of such as Peter Strzok, are fast moving this from "Conspiracy Theory" to "Current Events." There are yet a very few lines here with which I disagree, and for the most part it's a fair synopsis of corruption in the swamp, and the Democratic Party as swamp dwellers.
Quote:
As the Obama wall of silence begins to crumble, the FBI’s reputation is befouled by its own rash actions, a politicized Justice Department stands revealed as, well, politicized, and the Democrats furiously spin the facts outlined in the Nunes Memo and subsequent revelations, there’s only one overarching question left to ask: what made them think they could get away with it?

And by “them,” I mean the lot of them—the corrupt, partisan officials, the political operatives masquerading as selfless public servants, the intelligence community pooh-bahs who betrayed their trusts, the preening “straight arrows,” the talking heads, the Washington bureau chiefs, the White House correspondents, every man jack of whom did his level best to create, run, and disseminate a disinformation operation designed to do one thing: destroy the unwanted and unwelcome presidency of Donald J. Trump.
Quote:
From the moment it dawned on Hillary Clinton, late on election night, that she had managed to blow a fixed fight, and that there would, therefore, be hell to pay, the Democrat-Deep State-Media Complex suddenly had to conceal their own malfeasance by doing what the Left does best—projecting its own sins onto others:
  • We now know that the Justice Department under Loretta Lynch and the FBI under James Comey pretzeled themselves in order to avoid indicting Hillary Clinton over her blatant violation of security protocols involving her private email server; that the Clinton campaign paid for the Steele “dossier,” and fed it information; that the Obama administration, on its way out the door, liberalized the NSA surveillance distribution list to allow it to “unmask” American citizens under the pretext of national security; and concocted—literally on the spot—the idea of “Russian collusion” as an explanation for its candidate’s repellent ineptitude.
  • We also know that the bogus, media-amplified outcry over the non-existent “Putin” connection created the climate in which a too-decent Jeff Sessions recused himself and allowed Rod Rosenstein to appoint a special prosecutor with a mandate not to investigate a stated crime (for “collusion” is not in itself a crime) but to effectively probe all things Trump; that the fired Comey deliberately leaked his own self-serving memos to himself to a lawyer buddy and had them planted in the New York Times in order to facilitate the appointment of fellow FBI veteran Robert Mueller as Trump’s personal Grand Inquisitor.
  • We also know that the media, in the form of the Times and the Washington Post, and based on targeted leaks by the intelligence community, created the fall-guy characters of Carter Page and George Papadopoulos, the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of this black comedy in which the dithering Comey stands in as Hamlet; that the Steele “dossier” was then cited by the FBI as grounds for its FISA warrants to surveil the Trump campaign, and that the surveillance was renewed on several occasions, despite being authorized under false pretenses.
Throw in the manifest conflicts of interest of former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe – another former “straight arrow,” sans peur et sans reproche whose sudden defenestration at the end of January caught most of official Washington with its pants down; the tangled web of Fusion GPS, a gang of media types turned political operatives; the illicit office affair between two leftist radicals in the FBI determined to bring Trump down, et voila.
Quote:
Why they did it is perfectly clear: Obama, himself complicit in the use of off-the-books emails, couldn’t afford to charge Clinton without getting himself into trouble. His administration pretended to “investigate” her, using Comey’s FBI as a front, all the while greasing the skids to let her slide. When it became apparent that Trump, whom they’d dismissed as a clown just a few months before, was a formidable, serious candidate they had to scramble to cover their tracks. And when he won, they had to pull out all the stops to ensure that his administration would be smeared even before Inauguration Day, hamstrung by innuendo and anonymous leaks via the media, intimidated by the misuse of the “unmasked” NSA data, and finally brought down by the sheer weight of the manufactured evidence.
Quote:
As for the Deep State, it could ill afford to have such overt proof of existence be known, from the rigging of the Clinton investigation to the red-herring of “collusion,” and therefore the risk was worth the reward.
Quote:
As for the Obama Democrats—and has anyone seen the former president lately?—their unwillingness to accept the results of the 2016 presidential election, and their determination to overturn, is easily explained:

They never thought they could lose.
I was chatting with some cops a year or so ago, and I asked at some point why to knuckleheads go for brain-dead crimes. The answer was, they're all sure they're going to get away with it. They usually think they are too clever, and cops are all stupid.

It seems to be a universal failing, from petty crooks to "Deep State" swamp creatures.

Well, you've really outdone yourself here, Corodon.

"But, but, but, HER EMAILS!!!"

Perhaps we won't have to wait long for you to play the Benghazi card, too.

Disgusting.

Tell me one thing: If Trump is so innocent of collusion with Putin and his corrupt oligarchy, why has Trump decided to delay, perhaps indefinitely, the strong sanctions voted in by Congress against the Russians? Will they be delayed long enough to allow the cockroaches of the Trump administration to cover their tracks?

This corrupt Trumpocracy can't be turned out of office soon enough.

And now, for the TRUTH:

Did Hillary Clinton collude with the Russians to get ‘dirt’ on Trump to feed it to the FBI?

The Pinocchio Test

Was the dossier used to gin up media attention to Russia-Trump ties and bolster an existing FBI investigation? Perhaps. That’s certainly a question worth exploring.

But the media needed little prodding to investigate when candidate Trump appeared unexpectedly solicitous of Russian President Vladimir Putin as Russian-linked entities leaked emails stolen by Russian hackers in the middle of a campaign. Meanwhile, the initial FBI counterintelligence probe was prompted not by Steele’s reporting but by the loose lips of a Trump campaign staffer.

Finally, there is no evidence that Clinton was involved in Steele’s reports or worked with Russian entities to feed information to Steele. That’s where Nunes’s claim goes off the rails — and why he earns Four Pinocchios.

Four Pinocchios

We have one each for Corodon, Trish, William The Weird... room for one more!

I’ve noticed that most Clinton conspiracy theories have the same aspect: A series of events that needed to happen in a specific order, without fail, and with no major deviation. For example, in order for this whole “Deep State” BS to work, we have to believe:

- The conspirators knew that Trump would keep Comey as FBI Director instead of asking for his resignation

- That Trump would nominate Rod Rosenstein to the position of Deputy Attorney General

- That Trump would first demand Comey’s “loyalty” on two separate occasions and then fire him after the Flynn investigation was not ended as he ordered

- That Sessions would be forced to recuse himself from the Russia investigation after having admitted to committing perjury

- That Comey would “leak” his notes to the New York Times, making the public aware of Trump’s demands for “loyalty” and orders to end the Russia investigation

- That Trump would be caught admitting twice in two days that he’d fired Comey over the Russia investigation

- That Rosenstein, as a result of Session’s recusal, would be free to appoint a special counsel to take over the Russia investigation

- And that Rosenstein would pick Robert Mueller to be special counsel

All it takes it a link in the chain (ex: Sessions not recusing himself) not being forged and the whole thing falls apart. Or, for those playing the home game, Trump and his cronies had to be so predictable that Obama and the Clintons could set up a series of events over the following year that they knew with absolute certainty would lead to the results they needed to make Trump look like a crook.

If Hillary Clinton is that awesome a mastermind, then how did she lose?

I quite agree.

After all, Trump has given genocide Jackson a place of honor in the oval orifice.

2024 is soon enough.

Meanwhile, you still believe Trump and Russia colluded to block Hillary's election?

I believe Bill Priestap is cooperating with Congressional investigators and exposing the true scandal, which doesn't involve Trump at all.

Believe what you will.

As the facts come out - if they are allowed to come out - they will show that Trump is the most corrupt, criminal, and disloyal president ever.

I'll cut the difference: I believe that the Trump campaign conspired to work with Russian agents to sabotage the Clinton campaign, but I do not believe that they actively took part in doing so. Why? Because the evidence so far is they're simply too incompetent to do such. However, sadly for the Trumps, conspiracy is itself a crime and there's growing evidence that they're guilty of such.
