For awhile, the Fox Limbaugh right was hot and heavy with their scapegoating Hispanics. The attacks were pretty relentless and 1070 was the peak of their hostility.

But suddenly, as if someone reminded them there are a great number of Hispanics in this nation that vote, they pivoted to vilifying Muslims. They were an easy target, not really that many and mostly concentrated in a few areas, and people in our country don't seem to have a problem with denying Muslims their humanity and religious freedom.

With the success of the 9/11 Mosque hysteria, it is clear that Fox Limbaugh is ramping it up and running with it. Fear and Loathing are back on the menu with pita bread instead of tortillas.

The whole "creeping sharia" and ROPMA business has been around the blogs since at least 2004. It's probably been around since 2001, but I never paid any attention to righty blogs back then.

It does seem to be getting more mainstream in the last year, though.
