As an Edwards contributor and Edwards supporter I'm sorry to see him go. As a Democrat who wants to see the best candidate possible, I think this is a good thing.
My prediction is that Edwards endorses Obama. Before Super-Duper Tuesday that could mean alot. In Florida it was Clinton at 50%, Obama at 33% and Edwards 14%. I think most Edwards supporters will favor Obama. So Florida could have looked like 52% Hillary vs. 45% Barak. Florida's over, and there's no delegates up for grabs anyway, but Super-Duper Tuesday is another matter.
1908 Delegates are up for grabs on 5 February for the Democrats. I believe the "Magic Number" for the Democrats is 2025. So Edwards drops out, he endorses Obama, and the grand majority of his supporters follow his advice could mean an Obama victory!
It could always split 50/50, but should Obama gain momentum going into Super-Duper Tuesday by an Edwards endorsement...well Clinton could be in trouble.
