Thank you all for the welcome.

Patrick : that is a tough one, i tend to be against it, but i support it under certain circumstances. I generally think the problem the world has is there are too many countries, not too few. But if independance meant we were a socialist state to be used as a springboard for internationalist revolution, then i would be all for it. But that is a rather precise and unlikely circumstance.

Why not simply self-determination?

Why connect yourselves politically with England that has dominated your nation for centuries?

I just dont see scots as being a unique self. I dont see anything pthat particularly differentiates us from the English. I dont consider us to be ruled or dominated by the English. For me, we are ruled by the rich of both Scotland and England. The working class of both countries have a common enemy, i think we need to unite, not fight among ourselves.

I'd be happy if the world was just one state, so long as it was a socialist state

Well i will be nice too....for now

President Castro is my living idol. He embodies everything that is good and righteous about humanity. He and President Chavez are the only two 'leaders' worthy of the term.

But thanks for the welcome still.

So your party affiliation should be socialist/communist sounds like more like what you embody.

I don't understand how anyone can admire anybody who has killed millions of people and have hurt so many families. Castro a leader so corrupt that his sister left to live in miami. Maybe this website www.babalublog.com can enligten you more on the bearded dictator you call your hero. Another web is www.therealcuba.com

Maybe If you met my buddy from Venezuela whos living in turmoil because of Mr.Chavez may enlighten you on what the venezuelan people think about this bozo.

In turmoil ? Chavez has ended 35 years of economic recession. The only people in Venezuela in genuine turmoil are the poor and i'm guessing he is not one of them if he is against Chavez. The Venezuelan people must think a lot of this 'bozo' to keep electing him.

As for Castro killing millions. I dont know if you meant that seriously, i assume not. I am pretty sure less peope have died as a result of the revolution than George Bush put to death in Texas, Iraq and Afghanistan.

I've probably said enough since this is an intro thread, but should these issues pop up anywhere else on the forum i will be delighted to tackle them more fully.

I guess you believe just about anything that comes out of Castro and Chavez's mouth why not go and live their and see what I'm talking about.

I am a son of a cuban exile and I've heard stories upon stories on how Castro has killed his own people and killed others as well. Castro is 10 times worse then any present president or past president combined. You my friend are a priviliged soul who has never seen the real cuba you may have seen it through the tourist destination but have never actually lived their like the poor souls who do.

To keep electing him? Did you see the last vote they had in which the people said hell no to Chavez and Chavez wanted to corrupt the ballot boxes with his yes vote.
