I am your age and a grandpa in Hawaii, shelle.
I have been married to the same person for a long time too. We are foster parents for Hawaii's Department of Human Services.
I voted Democrat before I became a libertarian.
Good to have you with us.
One of my goals this year is to do an internet memorial photo place for my mama who died last October at age 90. I have photos of her as an infant in her own mama's arms and right up to the end. It will be a tribute to her long and blessed life.
What's your location?

Gary was 18 and I was 17 when we got married, we planned on waiting 5 years to start our family. I was pg. our first anniversary and our second anniversary and our 5th anniversary :lmao: The best laid plans of mice and men go screwy some times :lmao:
I lost my momma in 90 to cancer, she was 56 years old. She had me when she was 15 and my daddy was 16. My childhood was non existent, I learned to survive, that is all I'm willing at this time until I'm comfortable to say.
I will tell you that if you wish to make a good DVD album of your momma's photos, scan them at 300 dpi (best for good print quality), and when you save them to a CD or DVD always use the highest jpg setting like 10 or higher, this will prevent what we call junk showing around the edges of your photo and will give you the sharpest save. If you want, make a second photo at 72 to 150 dpi for showing on the net, the lower dpi is faster loading and uses less band width.
I made a DVD for my brother of our family photos, I restored the old polaroids and snap shots as well. What I did was make two photos of the pics. One original and one worked, that way he could have both. He loves it, he bought one of those new photo frames that shows the pics on a screen, he loves his birthday gift :).
I'm in Tulsa Oklahoma, still digging out from the Ice storm and trying to thaw out after 12 days of no power, and no phone. Heavy damage to our 100 year old pecan trees (well one is 100, the other is only 80) I wish this winter would end, I've had enough, I am to old for this that is for sure.

shelle, I won't gloat about living in Hawaii.
I hate ice and snow.
Once I had a job in the snow in Hawaii. Never again.
I worked on these babies in their construction phase.

What it took was an insulated coverall and an ability to withstand high-altitude anoxia.
Damn! I never saw so many stars in the daytime as when straightening up after pounding stakes on the summit!

I can't wait until spring, those are views of our 3 fish ponds down on our farm. We are hoping to have the farm ready for us to live in 6 years when we retire. In the mean time, :lol we are having a blast catching 3 pound crappy, 8 and 10 pound bass and catfish. We figure if grocery prices get to high, we can always live on fish :lol

Thank you, I didn't realize that the smiles would be counted to.
This was taken on my son's cell phone. He took my grandkids and a friend with him to fish the ponds, this is what the little girl they took with them caught. This is the first fish she caught this large, LOL her daddy now wants to fish our ponds.

This is my daughter in law, she caught this catfish. Not a bad size since we only stocked cats about a year and a half ago.

Wooo! Look at all that catfood! Welcome, Shelle, from another GrandMa. You're going to love this place and as long as you stay out of my litterbox and give me a few of those fish, we'll get along fine LOL!
Love those pics. Your family looks very happy and that is so nice to see.
The fish, however, aren't too thrilled, are they?
Purrs of welcome,

The main reason we bought the farm was so the grandkids could come and visit and if they wanted to camp-out by the ponds in total safety.
The fish maybe happy, we don't keep the big ones they we put back for brood stock and the fun of catching them again. We only take what we can eat of the small ones, 12 to 16 inches long.
It is lots of fun watching our sons and grandkids have so much fun and knowing they are safe while have that fun. They want us to retire now so they can have some horses too ::lmao: Wish we could, but we still have 6 years to go.

Are you going to make dig out my striper pics from Powell?
Sept 2006 my wife and I came back with over 50 stripers. She got the biggest one, close to 36". We had a double off the back of the sailboat and I told her to grab one rod while I got the other and she got the big one.

Post them! I live right at the juncture of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic, and pretty much live for the winter striper migration. That one was 38, but we've been blown in damned near all season, (Continuously windy out of the North) and haven't been out much. We had a new state record caught week before last. http://www.examiner.com/a-1177254~Fisherman_hauls_in_record_Virginia_rockfis h.html

:madlaugh: Go Fish, you know I've never seen the ocean other then pics. I would love to someday. I would love to catch a fish as large as that one, it would feed a family of 10 with left overs for later :clapper: That farm of ours is a God send, our grandkids now have a place of great fun where we can take them that we don't have to worry about someone taking our favorite fishing hole or being a danger to my grand-babies. We are very popular with the grand-kids now because of that beautiful 20 acres. They are never bored, they have a 20 acres playground that is all theirs to explore and just be kids having fun :)
