If that is all what you did Cobra, that is about 1/20th what we had to do when my grandfather had to move with his weapons hehehe. Of course my Grandfather is a weapons dealer hehehe.
Not being a gun owner, looking at all those made me think of a survivalist camp........add that to no houses around :lmao:

You do realize that whether you shoot something with 1 or 10 guns it's not getting any deader, right?
Damn, where I live most people don't even keep one gun.

They're all hunting guns and get used a lot. Rifles for deer season, shotguns for rabbit and dove hunting, .22 for target practice and shooting birds. My brother and dad are both hunters. No where near as much as some guys like my cousins who are literally always hunting but plenty. I don't really hunt, don't find it fun except for rabbit hunting but I'm not fast enough with a shotgun to actually kill anything. Not a good shot.
that's really not that many guns and two are just pelet guns. The black ones.

Okay so new subject. I got accepted to UofL and plan on living on campus for my freshman year or at least one semester. Which dorm should I pick. Some of these I can't even get into. 11 by 16 is the norm size, with two beds and two small desks. Hafta have a rommate most likely.

I hate moving. My wife gave me a good sign that she is planning on staying put here for a while longer by making me wallpaper the lounge today. On that note, if your pregnant wife heads off to the shop with your neighbour's wife, be very afraid. She didn't tell me about the planned wallpapering until she got back from the shop with everything!

So I'm going to take the MNA test not this coming but next tue. so I can get certified as a nurses aid. Then the school is gona let me sign out since I only have two classes and work after I find a job at one of the nursing homes.
No one does this stuff exactly how it’s laid out in real practice. They make things too complicated I guess so it can be tested over. Easy stuff but they break it into what 22 separate steps that you hafta repeat back to them word for word as you actually do the skill and have to do all the stuff in the exact order laid out. An example of a skill we might be tested on and your gona do if you’re working a nursing home. I'm typin them all up to practice memorizing word for word since their gona be all perticulier about it.
Male perineal care.
1.knock, identify, greet, and all that.
2.raise the bed for good body mechanics
3.position resident on his back, remove the linens
4.fill a wash basin with warm water
5.put on gloves
6.place water proof pad under buttocks
7.retract the foreskin if the person is uncircumcised
8.grasp the penis
9.clean the tip, use circular motions, repeat as needed using clean part of washcloth each time.
10.rinse area with another washcloth
11.return foreskin to it’s natural position
12.clean the shaft of the penis, use firm downward strokes, rinse the area
13.Help person to flex knees and spread legs.
14.Clean the scrotum, rinse well, observe for redness and irritation in skin folds. ( by the way how exactly am I sposed to know what an old mans ball sack is supposed to normally look right barring serious stuff)
15.Pat penis and scrotum dry
16.help him lower legs, cover him and have him turn onto his side away from you, fold the bath blanket back between legs.
17.wash, rinse, and pat dry the anal area, wash from scrotum to anus with one stroke.
18.remove waterproof pad
19.remove/discard gloves
20.cover the resident with linens, remove the bath blanket.
21.lower bed, signal light in reach of resident.
22.Wash hands, report and record observations.
I guess there is no such thing as a stupid question.......so I've got to ask......why don't you have to give him a complete sponge bath?

I would imagine that the privates are washed daily due to the preponderence of bacteria present.
A full-body spongebath probably is an every-other-day occurrence.

LOL nah you only get those when your out of it or so weak you can't move. Rest of the time you'll do it yourself or you'll stay nasty. Alzheimer’s patients, strokes, ect.
Lily, yeah that procedure is also part of a full bed bath but they don't get those daily and this is something your supposed to do everytime you change their diapers or breifs as they call em in the nursing home.

So I got my army ROTC acceptance letter a few weeks ago. Full ride scholarship, books, ect. but a 4 year active duty service obligation after you graduate. You can still drop out during the 1st and 2nd year without a commitment to the military if you change your mind but you hafta pay back the money. UofL nursing school, I could probably get a scholarship from one of the local hospitals or the state of Kentucky but then your stuck in Kentucky/that hospital for the same amount of time. At least I'd get to travel the other way.

Think I may have just landed a job. Went to the local nursing home to turn in my appliation and they gave me an interview right away. Tough one, 3 people all asking complicated and open ended questions. Think I did well, they seemed to like my responces and this place is advertising all shift positions open in the paper. Got a tour of the facility after the interview.
Pays 9 dollars an hour, 10 on weeknds and your expected to work every other weekend. That's pretty good and the best thing is this place is close, not more than a 5 minute drive from my highschool or house. CNA's make beter money then I thought for begginers, I expected not to get paid that much till I'd worked atleast 6 months.
Wow.........that sounds great and not bad pay for still being in school. Every other weekend also is a deal.
It takes a special kind of person to work in a nursing home. I was the prime caretaker of both my parents and when my sister was dying, I kind of lost it and wouldn't leave her room except to shower or when her kids came......it was hard work and that was for people that I loved. I can't imagine doing it for strangers. You've got a good heart, Cobra.

Flu season, and vaccine, looking worse
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080216/ap_on_he_me/flu_season;_ylt=Ap3U1_Bpu1VnEjQb_KUxUNvVJRIF
ATLANTA - The flu season is getting worse, and U.S. health officials say it's partly because the flu vaccine doesn't protect against most of the spreading flu bugs. The flu shot is a good match for only about 40 percent of this year's flu viruses, officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday.
The situation has even deteriorated since last week when the CDC said the vaccine was protective against roughly half the circulating strains. In good years, the vaccine can fend off 70 to 90 percent of flu bugs.
Infections from an unexpected strain have been booming, and now are the main agent behind most of the nation's lab-confirmed flu cases, said Dr. Joe Bresee, the CDC's chief of influenza epidemiology.
It's too soon to know whether this will prove to be a bad flu season overall, but it's fair to say a lot of people are suffering at the moment. "Every area of the country is experiencing lots of flu right now," Bresee said.
This week, 44 states reported widespread flu activity, up from 31 last week. The number children who have died from the flu has risen to 10 since the flu season's official Sept. 30 start.
Those numbers aren't considered alarming. Early February is the time of year when flu cases tend to peak. The 10 pediatric deaths, though tragic, are about the same number as was reported at this time in the last two flu seasons, Bresee said.

Last night was terrible. Went to bed, woke up about two with the chills and my throat on fire. Got up and fell back in bed, then finally got up and got some water, walking back I fainted in the kitchen floor, then spent thirty minutes calling for the family for someone to help me back to bed, mom took my temp, 103.8. Then I got hot, felt like I was on fire for about and hour before I fell back to sleep. Woke up again at 4 soaked in sweat, like my shirt was literly dripping so I changed and went back to sleep. Woke up this morning and the fever broke, feeling a lot better. Was gona have a physical today and they went ahead and did some blood work and throat swab for the flu and mono. Strep throat was negative.

Cobra, I worked in a nursing home as an aide during high school; they didn't require any sort of certification. The first couple of weeks I came home in tears because some of the residents were so desperate for just a family resident or someone to talk to.
But eventually, I became friends with quite a few of them and loved to listen and hear them talk about the 'old days' and their families. There were two wards, the one I worked in was with the semi ambulatory, and fairly lucid. The other ward
was for those with progressive senility and physical handicaps so bad that usually it was only the guys who worked there. You look kind of tiny to me, trying to get a 280 lb man out of bed and into a wheelchair is impossible.
Like Lily, kudos for taking on a job both emotionally and physically difficult. I But it really was worth it to me.

Heavy snow forecast for Ohio, Ky.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080308/ap_on_re_us/severe_weather;_ylt=AuRkc8NL5xOHtovYAUh_K0tvzwcF
COLUMBUS, Ohio - A heavy late-winter snowstorm Friday pummeled residents from Arkansas to the Great Lakes, knocking out electricity for thousands and promising to bring near-blizzard conditions to Ohio and Kentucky.
In several Florida communities, tornadoes damaged buildings and left residents without electricity. Two people died.
While the storms dumped more than a foot of snow in parts of Arkansas and left about 44,000 homes and businesses without power, people in southern Ohio and northern Kentucky were bracing for a massive snowstorm.
"It could get real nasty," said Dusty Harbage, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Jackson, Ky.

Ugh, Cobra, that must be frustrating.
I have a friend who has 2 pugs, and their names are Bugsy and Pugsy. Even though the names are so close, when he calls one, the right one comes to him. I thought it was fascinating to think maybe dogs catch the nuances of language. Do they?

So spent like 9 hours in church yesterday. Sucked, got confirmed as a catholic and first communion tho. The Easter mass it's self was 3 and 1/2 hours, longest anybody had ever been too, They baptized like 20 people and took forever. I've had enough church to last me a good long time now. Wont be back anytime soon.

Atleast we got to play with some fire.
Lighting of new fire out in the frigid cold, took forever.

I think the guy behind you is what my avatar is going to look like when he grows up....
I know how brutal Catholic services are. I went to a wedding once and my stomach
was growling after the first 1½ hours. I will never go back. I felt like I was being hijacked.
I was not impressed by all the pomp and showmanship. Nobody was healed.
I am sure you did your homework before you joined up with the Catholics.
So,
Did Ratzinger ever perform a validated miracle?
Thats a requirement for sainthood... I am sure popehood would be a bit more stringent.
I know he made it easier (http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Apr05/Whitney0426.htm)for pedophile priests to evade justice.

Oh noooooooooooooooooo!! Cobra, that was one of Zo's rats!
Now we're in trouble. Quick, you hide the cat, I'll take care of what's left of the body, and bar the door.
Are the guns cleaned?
LOL!
Little huntress she is. She's pretty, too. Is that Kitty?

Man my right shoulder is killing me. At nursing homes they don't have the automatic beds, we have to crank them with a lever to move the head and foot up and down. Hard to do especially when you have someone heavy in the bed. Could be the lifting to I guess, lifted like 3 people from chair to bed by myself yesterday.

Something kinda funny, going to give this old man a shower, get him undressed all except the pull up, going to take that off behind the curtian cuz were sposed to provide for privacy and all that, guess he took it the wrong way and called out quite loudly, don't you worry none honey it's deader than a doornail, just take em off. We got some dirty ol men there, atleast he wasn't one who tryes and grabs you. Had my ass grabbed several times.

So they're doing some construction work to add on to my school. Well today a big ol block on concrete came crashing thru the roof into one of the classrooms. Of course the students were moved out of the room. Few more feet and it would have been a real tragedy. The construction people kinda suck, they've cut the pipes and shut the water off twice, now they're sending concrete blocks thru the roof while people are in class, wtf.

What a fuckin day at work.
Okay so we go in and everybody is arguing which hall they’ll work. I’m not but prolly should have, get stuck on the worst hall in the entire facility. We start out, getting people up for supper, call lights goin off left and right, everybody’s dirty cuz first shift didn’t get them changed, had a hell of a time with it all, lots of full bed changes cuz someone didn’t pad then enough, then supper ends hafta get them all back into bed and changed again, call lights still going off like crazy, lazy ass nurses who wont do shit to help, then we hafta give to of the worst people showers. Heavy as anything, stiff as boards, and wants a yeller. 250 pounds of dead wait is hard to lift, specially when the persons trying to hit you while your doing it. Lady screamed at the top of her lungs the whole time. You get soaked yourself doing showers and came out with soggy shoes. More rounds. We have half of another hall now cuz a girl went home. Go in to check on them on last rounds and a lady is bleeding like crazy, blood all over the bed, poop as well, hafta get the nurse then do a full bed change. Finally done and hafta take to garbage’s out to the dumpster by myself. They were too heavy, couldn’t heft them so had to lift at the bottom. Trash juice (piss, blood, bowel, puss) comes streaming out all down both my arms and right leg. Get soaked in the shit. Then I hafta go back and take the empty garbage can back to the hall. Clock out, 30 minutes late, then strip down outside my car and drive home with no pants or shoes. Just finished and good shower. Man fuck this job and this company. I’m giving my notice after next paycheck and finding another job like the rest of the aids around here.

Had the same two ladies for showers. they shit the whole time, then again on the floor of their rooms, we nearly dropped the 200 pound screamer, just made without getting covered in shit ourselves, everybody had dirrhea today, fuckin sucked. Got out on time tho, was working with a girl who works really fast.

based on FASFA data you are not eligible for a college access grant or or any other government grants. Your expected family contribution exceeds the maximum allowed. Why it bad to be middle class, not poor enough for help, not rich enough for college payments not to be an extreme financial burden. Stupid government.

The standards I hafta meet when I take my army physical fitness test are.
Push-ups: 19 -2 minutes
sit-ups: 53 - 2 minutes
2 mile run -18:54 minutes
The only one i can make right now is the sit ups. Those are the female standards, males hafta do the run faster, in 16 minutes and 42 pushups. Thank god for double standards, no way I'm doing no 42 pushups in the time I have to be able to do this.

Fried fish tonight, brother and dad caught a mess of catfish today. They're not huge like the ones you catch out of the Ohio river, these came from taylorsville lake, but should be tasty.
