Hi
What in your opinion was the iraq war for?
Was it for the freedom of iraqi people, the ousting of a tyrannic ruler, for superiority, for the fun of it or for the oil and riches of iraq?
I think it was for the oil...

Sure it was for oil. All those things like 'mass distruction' or 'freedom for iraqis' were craps. There reality is that the American troops continue to stay in Iraq although an elected government is in place. So the reason is other - oil.

He was certain they had wmd's, despite conflicting info, and was certain they were aiding terrorists, despite very little evidence, and he thought it would be a cakewalk and they'd be treated as liberators.
Basically, he's short sighted, stubborn and overconfident.

Of course it's about oil, why else would the US be interested in that part of the world? Without oil, youi would be walking, riding a bicycle or learning how to ride and care for a horse. Forget about flying, you could ride a coal-powered train. Check out how many electric-producing plants are oil-powered; I suppose we could build more nuclear power plants, but I'm not very comfortable with that thought. Just aboiut everything you take for granted in the supermarket or department was transported by rail, truck or ship - all powered by diesel. Until this country is no longer dependent on oil as a major source for power, it is in our national interest to try to keep it flowing. Saddam tried to grab up most of the oil back in the 90's (Kuwait and Saudi Arabia), if he had succeeded he would have controlled about 85% of the world's oil production. Can you imagine the demands he would have made on the rest of the world, considering how he treated his own people. We couldn't afford to leave Saddam in power.

Oil, oil, oil. The most laughable thing is how many people bought the whole weapons of mass destruction thing- are they safe in Bush's hands? I doubt he ties his own shoelaces.
