From your link:
patriot
n.
One to whom the interests of a part seem superior to those of the whole. The dupe of statesmen and the tool of conquerors.

They espouse leftish politics in their songs...I'm not a fan either, but not because of their politics...The music sucks. No one knows how to play guitar anymore, with few exceptions [like the guy in my signature link, Keb Mo'].

I would regard my self as a patriot. I love the United States, its authority and interestsso yes, I'm a patriot.

I love the United States Constitution, which almost always has me at odds with its Federal government.

What's it to you?
Why do you care?
Why is it any of your business?
Who determines who qualifies as a patriot and who doesn't?
Who put you in that position?
Do you win anything for answering this troll-like question or is it just an easy opening for you to drop some rhetorical bomb on someone and then skitter away feeling smug?

Certainly not, America is a catastrophic failure on a scale that has never been matched. The collapse of the Soviet Union will be seen as insignificant in comparison to the US in 50-100 years. All because of their inability to face reality.

Would you care to support that assertion with a credible source?
Yeah. I'm wondering how the world's only superpower becomes a catastrophic failure so quickly. George Bush will be gone in a year, don't forget, so don't hang that label on us because of that goofball.
I don't know much about the Patriots or football.

LMAO!
Yep, I'm a patriot. With all the voting and protesting I've done I stand out I mile away.
(and yes I like Green Day too.)

Well put, ECW. I don't have to wear a flag on my sleeve or on my lapel to prove to anyone that I am a patriot. That you have to ask K-D, says something about you...
Oh, moses, our country - even with Bush in power - is still a beacon of light to the world!

The US is a cloud of darkness, not a beacon of light.
It rains bombs and missiles on nations that have done nothing to the US.
It subverts democracy, overturning legitimate governments at least twenty times since WW2.
It supports tyranny and dictatorship throughout the world if the prick in charge will lick Uncle Sam's culo.
Can you tell I am not a US patriot? I thought you could...
Do I still love the US? Why, yes, yes I do.
I love the people, among the best-hearted and well-intentioned in the world. They are simply misled.
I love the foundational documents and their focus on limiting the power of government. Sadly neglected and undermined by the dark forces that have siezed control of the apparatus in Washington.
I love the landscape, the big cities and the little towns, the lakes and rivers, the beaches and forests. I love Yosemite and Big Bend and Carlsbad Caverns.
I love freedom of speech, internet forum boards and my church of humble people who try to help their hurting neighbors.
I love free enterprise and the market system that selects from the competing options. I love a lot of things about America...just not the government.

It depends on how you define patriot.
Can one be a patriot and still mistrust the government and disagree with almost everything the government does?

KD is only a symptom of your fears.
I agree with him on more than you know. I will fight and die for the IDEALS and FREDEOMS that this great nation has to offer all of us.
What I KNOW is that I am not alone.
Chew on that you Marxists out there.
Realize this or suffer a stinging defeat
Funny,
you have NO idea...
