I happened across this website while visiting DU Forums. I'm something of a news junkie and love discussing politics and current events. Most political web sites are totally one sided and/or so extreme that there's little possibility of meaningful debate. I'm hopeful that this will be a great exception to the rule. I'm a pretty conservative guy, but I hold some pretty liberal ideas, too. Hopefully, we can have a good time and who knows, maybe broaden our horizons!

Howdy!
Most political web sites are totally one sided and/or so extreme that there's little possibility of meaningful debate. Well then you've come to the right place, we blast each other from both directions.:P Looking forward to your posts.

Thanks, Mayberry. My work leaves me with no regular schedule, so I'll pop in whenever I get a chance. Thanks again!

Hi back at ya, BoogyMan. My favorite Buckley quote is about moral equivalency. I'll paraphrase-
Moral equivalency tells us that shoving a little old lady out of the path of an oncoming bus is no different than shoving a little old lady into the path of an oncoming bus because either way, you're just shoving little old ladies around.
See ya around.

Thanks wonder cow. Are you a fan of George?
Of the Bush variety? Negative.
Or, rather, I guess you mean ol' blood and guts himself? Do you know how many people don't recognize that face? One of my favorite figures of military history. Mean old hard nosed bastard, but i love him for his total disdain for bullshit. Straight to the chase, for that guy. Not that he and I are anything alike.

My dad served under Patton during WWII. Didn't have too high an opinion of the general. Too much of his guts and too much of their blood.
