It better not be but apparently it could be, thanks to our idiot of a president:

CRAWFORD, Texas (CNN) -- What's next for the U.S. in Pakistan?

That's the burning question President Bush must contemplate as he tries to get some down time for the New Year's holiday.

He has a slew of foreign policy challenges to confront in 2008 -- ranging from Iraq to Afghanistan, Iran and North Korea to name just a few.

Perhaps none is as pressing on January 1 as the unfolding crisis in the wake of the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Okay, Bhutto was assassinated a few days ago, that's tragic and is a blow to Pakistan. But that is NOT any reason for us to get involved in that country.

If that's the way you feel, you better hope that Obama doesn't get elceted.

Well, Bush has already put all his eggs in one basket when he agreed with Musharif to let the tribesmen go after and catch bin-Laden and Musharif told Bush no American soldiers would be allowed in, so I honestly don't know what anyone expects Bush to do, but try and talk to Musharif and I doubt that's going to do any good.

On the other hand, Bush just assigned where the foreign aid congress just approved was going to go......with an increase to Pakistan. I say, put your money where your mouth is......cut their foreign aid. It's just going to the military and we're just funding another army to train, buy weapons and to fight us.

I also think Musharif's days in office may be numbered.

Whatelse was Bush to do? Invade Pakistan? That would have been a very, very, very, very bad idea.

IMO, Musharif has done more to help The US combat the IslamoFacists than any other national leader, in The World. Most definitely more than any other national leader in The Muslim World. Pakistan is the only Muslim nation, in The World, that is allowing American covert operators enter their country to hunt down and kill terrorists.

I don't think I even hinted at that.

They are not allowed in the mountainous tribal regions, where by everyone's guess is where bin-Laden is. Musharif himself barely has any say so in that region.

I don't totally agree that that's the case. Just another one of my hunches, but I think they're operating where they want to, in Pakistan. I would agree that those ops are extremely limited as to what can be accomplished; almost to the point of making them nothing but observation missions, but I believe they are in those areas.

No it's not - Syria does too. Doesn't stop us from putting them on the state-sponsored terrorist list, and almost in the axis of evil.

Oh.....I don't doubt that they are there, but according to the deal Bush and Musharaf made last year, they're not suppose to be.;)

My worst fear is that the fool in the White House will decide he has to "liberate" Pakistan the way he "liberated" Iraq. God help us all!

Oh? I don't recall Syria helping The United States stop the flow of foreign fighters into Iraq. Hell, I don't recall Syria helping us with anything. Seems to me, that Syria is too busy with Hezbollah to help us with anything.

but according to the deal Bush and Musharaf made last year, they're not suppose to be.

And that's probably to the advantage of those personel operating in those areas.
