It was a good interview that showed Ron Pauls weekness. He obviously is a pacifists who wants to pull our troops away from S.Korea and other world regions. He didn't even know how many troops we have deployed. Hell he even wants to eliminate the income tax that the nation survives on. We need the tax but corporate taxes should be futher reduced on the Petroleum Industry from the 33 billion tax cut made possible by Bush. Yes watch the Video of how Paul dodges the question as Russert asks the tough questions which Pauls replies would surely doom the country.

And we need to be in S. Korea, Japan, the ME, etc. because?
We need the income tax because? Our government worked just fine up to 1913 without an income tax, and if we were to eliminate the income tax we'd still have the same level of funding we had in 1997. Cut spending and we no longer need the income tax whatsoever.
Which tough questions did he not answer?
Since you're nothing but a troll, I'm going to assume you have no answers to these questions, but I will still be awaiting them, none the less.

We need the military in these regions to stop possible future aggressions from rogue nations like North Korea, Iran and terrorist harboring countries. Remember we are at war in case you didn't know. Being soft on these countries will put our nations interests like trade with friendly countries that these evil nations border at risk in case they started a war. Remember Taiwan is still threatened by invasion from China. A Ron Paul presidency would insure that if he pulled our troops out of East Asia. By the way I see you like to name call. Very immature.

do you even know why we have a military presence in those countries? it has nothing to do with protecting us from any of those other countries whatsoever. You should read up on some history.
And we aren't at war, the war is over, all we are doing now is nation building.

Yes I do. We are there as a deterrence to aggression in case there are any in the future and we are in strategic positions around the globe to prevent footholds being established by invading or attacking nations. Do you believe we should not have kicked Iraq out of Kuwait when Saddam attacked the first time? Was it our moral obligation to? Also we are still at War with Terrorism. Iraq might be done with but Terrorist are located all over. We have troops in the Philippines and other countries hunting these cells down. You are obviously brainwashed on Paul's pacifist ideology. He would be weak like Neville Chamberlain.

WRONG! We are in Germany and Japan because the US wasn't ready to allow them to have their own military force after WWII. We are in S. Korea because the USSR setup a communist dictatorship in N. Korea after Korea was split up after WWII.
It is not the job of the US military to police the world, it is the job of the US military to DEFEND the US, and they can't do a very good job of that with 500,000+ soldiers halfway across the world. You can not destroy terrorism because it is an idea, it is not a person, it is not a group of people, it is not a country, it is an IDEA. It's like destroying racism, it just isn't going to happen through force.
Our "war on terror" has just created more terrorists, just like the "war on drugs" has created more drugs and the "war on poverty" has created more poverty.

What about my questions about Kuwait? Also Ideologys can be defeated in time. You know we are just in a cease fire with N.Korea so in essence it is logical to keep the troops there. Do you support the American troops stationed overseas at out bases and on our Military Ships patroling international waters?

If you are at war, it generally helps your case if you actually declare that you are at war.
NK are a threat to whom? Anything specific? Or is it just that they are Red Commies and you aren't?
Iran is a threat to whom? To my knowledge they aren't getting ready to attack anyone, but they are readying themselves to defend their country for the umpteenth time.
If Taiwan is invaded, how does it affect your country's interests? Is it in your country's interest to defend Taiwan against an adversary bristling with Nukes?
Ron Paul is actually very intelligent about this. Pulling your troops out of places they aren't wanted just removes the reason for 99% of the terrorists out there for existing. Think about it...

Think about it...
There's your problem. You expect those that follow lies and sloganeering to think. One does have to think to accept responsibility for their own lives and allow others to do the same.
If you don't think, you can continue to follow a leader who will tell you what to believe. Obviously a person like this couldn't survive under a Paul administration.

American troops are in Germany, because we had to rebuild Germany. American troops remained in Germany, because there were several million Soviet troops that were poised to head west through the Fulda Gap
Basically, American troops are in Germany for the same reason they were sent to Europe, in the first place.

yeah, no. how long has it been since the soviet union collapsed? Why are we still there? Last I heard, east and west Germany are one country again and have been for a long time. Why are we still there?

If you can get it through your head we are there (now) in case ther was an attack on Europe as it has been in the past Just because things are fine now doesn't mean it will in the future. We set up shop after the war to prevent the Soviets from taking over to spread communism and to enforce the Marshall Plan. Also we are there today because it is a strategic location to deploy troops and supplies to the middle east and to stop a possible Russian attack in the future if they decided to. We probably have contracts with Germany to keep the bases there and that is a good thing. Also have you noticed the russians flying their Bear Bombers along our borders to test our radar systems out like they did in the cold war. They are Sabre Rattling again. That is why along with other countries like Germany and France we are members of NATO which is agreed an attack on any country that are members is an attack on the US. That is how it works. Why cant you see this? What do you think Americas interests are overseas in Europe? Can you answer that? I guess Ron Paul would want to dissolve our pact in NATO and tuck tail and come home. It doesnt matter if we are at war and everything is fine right now. Its the future we have to look our for. If there was an attack on any of these countries we woud be in a close location to respond.

Ron Paul is not a tap dancer like Condie or Gingrich. I thought he did a good job of answering. It makes no difference to me as I am looking more at dems right now.
I just now watched this show online.
Meet the press comes on at 6 AM here. WAAAAY too early on a sunday. I wake up at 6, but my 1st thought isnt to turn on Tim Russert and "Meet the Reich".
After Christmas dinner last night the interview came up and I hadnt seen it, so I watched it this morning.
Ron Paul did great.
To state "Tim Russert destroys Ron Paul on Meet the Press", is a fallacy.
Especially on the topic of fascism coming to America.
I still wont vote for him, but he is the best the Republicans have to offer.
All the other Red candidates have glaring deflects. They may as well eat babies for lunch, from creepy religious cults (Mittens) to mass murder (Rotten Rudy) of FDNY,
... to spiteful pardoning (Huckster) of a rapist murderer because the victim was a member of the Clinton family (I guess he thinks the Clintons SHOULD be raped?)
Childish spite like that is what got Valerie Plame's cover blown... which also has caused untold deaths.
What a rotten lot of fascists pigs to choose from.
Why are we still there?
To boost their economy?

And that my friends is the mindset of a conservative. The World Cop on the beat. Everything is paranoid thinking and fear mongering, filled with what ifs, maybe, could be.
Here KD, you better fully fund welfare right now before the welfare people come to kill you and your family and hang you from a light pole. You better fully fund health care for all those millions going without care or they are going to invade your town an burn your house and car to the ground. You better give all those homeless people jobs or they are going to drag you from your home and kill you in the gutter.
Now KD has fear & paranoia, he can now support social programs!! :ecstatic::madlaugh::clapper:
