This reminds me of middle school.. until the part where the guns start blazing. Following this story can be a bit difficult because the suspects have a different last name than both their brother and their mother. (T&P restrains his inner racist)
These really sound like bad "kids", their mother must be proud.

People who are bullied usually seek a way to exact justice, or revenge, not one and the same.
Usually a person who is bullied is tired of being FORCED into pain, mental and physical, and will use a method in return to seek "justice or revenge" that will put them at the least risk of further injury.
Where did the gun come from? I didn't see that addressed in the story.
I don't support this action, or actions like it, but I certainly think its understandable why things like this happen and responsible people should act before things are allowed to multiply and progress to this point.

Actually it appears that the original bully, the guy who hit the girl in the face and got charged with a felony, and the two shooters all come from the same family. So this is not a revenge story, this is a really bad family story.

When someone has gotten very little benefit from subscribing to society's mores, they tend to violate those mores.
That doesn't make those violations justified or moral, just not crazy.

When someone has been raised to disregard and even despise society's mores, they violate society's mores more often than not. Playing the "poor, poor kids letting out their frustration" card is really stupid IMO. Two generations ago my family came from the poor house, but even in the poorest of times they had their moral fiber intact. It makes all the difference.

My comment wasn't about poverty, but rather about bullying.
I knew kids when I was in school that literally had no friends. They were treated like lepers and the only interaction they ever had with kids their age was brutal bullying and psychological torment.
When a person is so dehumanized, why should we be surprised when they act less than human?
