He might be out of the Presidential race.

But we might not be rid of him, he may try for Senate.

Tancredo to make 'major announcement' Thursday
Republican presidential candidate Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado will "make a major announcement regarding the campaign" tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET in Des Moines, his staff announced earlier today.

The Associated Press implies that the news might be that Tancredo will drop his presidential bid and shift to a run for the Senate. It writes that:

Tancredo has consistently polled at the back of the seven-person GOP field. He has based his campaign on opposition to illegal immigration, running television ads that link lax border security to terrorist attacks, rape and other crimes.

Tancredo announced in October he wouldn't seek a sixth term in Congress but hinted he would consider running for the Senate after his presidential bid.

Colorado will have an open Senate seat next year when Republican Wayne Allard retires.

We called Tancredo campaign spokesman Alan Moore to ask whether the announcement might be that his boss is going to run for the Senate instead, but Moore would only say "we're making a major announcement" and left it at that.
