Just lately we've had a wonderful increase in conservative membership on the DF forum. Great news to be sure!

I applaud my conservative brothers and sisters and I look forward to a more level playing field during political debate here.

The days of an overwhelming obnoxious liberal midset on this forum are fast becoming history.

Well, I'd phrase it very differently, but I agree. I don't like being in the majority. I'd much rather have a 50-50 split or even better a 40-60 split with a conservative majority. I think my best posts where when this site was conservative dominated, and I believe my post quality suffers the more liberals we have and the less people disagree with me.

When it comes to politics I thrive on conflict. When there's no conservatives to fight I've been known to argue just for the sake of arguing.

I agree Zo. The days of liberals simply throwing out wild conjecture and demanding it to be recieved as fact are coming to a close. We are moving towards debate based on fact and reason.

I think we should limit the people who agree with us.
We should accept more neocons for us to expose and ridicule.

So we're throwing out the people and bringing in robots?

No, I'd hope that we're inviting in reasoned debate and pushing out unsubstantiated conjecture.

And the bashing of liberals, or conservatives for that matter, doesn't contribute.

Given how conservatives post around here, I would say there's not much hope of that... :madlaugh:

Nor do the constant negative generalizations.

I'm just hoping that the whining and embellishments of the left is replaced with intellectually stimulating debate. I suspect that it will be. A welcome change and a breath of fresh air.

I think the issue here is the assumption that the left is the one that cannot engage in intelligent debate. It's both parties, and I think the lack of intelligent debate that sometimes occurs is due simply to one party dominating, not due to the particular party that is dominated. Go check out free republic if you don't believe me.

Funny how some of us who demand proof and citations from others who post opinions without said facts or citations, were waiting for the influx of members who actually could back up their arguments instead of just pontificating. Whining and embellishments know no party but portraying oneself as objective and non-partisan when almost every post is filled with demonizing generalizations appears to be a conservative domain, for the most part.

I welcome all new posters who know the difference between opinion and fact and can prove assertions when asked. There hasn't been a lot of that around here lately.

Wow so in order to contribute to the decrease of whining you've turned a positive thread into a chance to whine about liberals. How refreshing.

Why don't we just forget about left/right liberal/conservative and just debate the facts instead?

Wow, usually Bourne inserts his liberal bashing into every thread he touches, now he's making threads just for that purpose.

Classy.
