If by mixed ticket you mean a republican and a democrat on the same ticket, I don't see the value in it. All I can see it being is an attempt to get people from both sides to vote for you, which is basically manipulation. Who would be the presidential candidate and who the VP? Do you think the hard-line left would support Hillary as being the VP to Newt Gingrich? There is no way one party would be willing to concede presidential power just for the chance at getting a VP in.

I'm all for it. Straight line voting is counter productive. I want to vote for the individual, not the party. Both of them suck.

I agree that straight line voting is counter productive. But it has also been proven that the political scene is far too polarized for dems and repubs to work together on most things. I think this is very sad, but it is true. The only real way for something to get done is to have an overwhelming republican or democrat majority in office. You would need less of a majority because the republicans are damn wusses but the democrats have proven to be the party of obstruction. When they had control of the senate, they were willing to do anything and everything they wanted as the majority. As the minority, the block everything, insisting that a republican majority doesn't represent a mandate from the people. (I was always under the impression that when the people voted for someone, they actually were voting for that person to have the power to do something, so it is ridiculous that the dems use this argument to obstruct legislation now.)
The theory of a mixed ticket would be fantastic in trying to reign in this great divide. But when Bush extends his hand, he is spit on, called an idiot, then told that he is dividing the country. (I am not claiming that republicans were much nicer to Bill Clinton.) As long as that is the climate, you may as well lay to rest any hope for a mix ticket even coming about let alone having success.

I added a poll to it. I made a guess to what you wanted, you should be able to change it as you like, if not then just post or pm me the changes.
I can't imagine what a mixed poll would be like. Democrats and Repulicans working together and actually getting something done? Strange.
Also may be the only way to get a viable third party.
