For the same reason that it was wrong for Pelosi to have met with Syrian leadership without administration approval, they don't represent US foreign policy.

By meeting those types Obama is falsely representing himself as a spokesperson for US foreign policy and he runs the risk of being used as a tool.

But wouldn't it be a good idea, seeing as how much of the world can't stand us now. Why not talk with nations instead of threatening them like we are with Iran?

Well, the idea of diplomacy that doesn't involve guns and bombs is just absurd. And why shouldn't it be? If God meant us to talk, we would have working vocal chords and the means to communicate. I mean, the idea of "loving your enemy" is so crazy, that it could only be a loony lefty creation [/sarcasm]

I'm not in agreement that "much of the world hates us." Where do you get that nonsense? Proof please.

And no, it wouldn't be a good idea for just anyone to represent the US. US foreign policy is the provinance of the Administration and the Department of State. No one else speaks for the US.

Are you talking about now, or his desire to do so if he's president?[hr]I do have to say, after reading an article that I'm about to post in the Hillary section.........I'm begining to like this man more and more. So far he has kept his promise of no negative campaigning. If he can keep a promise like that all through this election, he just may have my vote and I may just get fired up about a candidate.
