Vladimir Putin, the self appointed Czar of Russian civil rights, is accused of widespread election fraud in last weeks elections.
Typical behavior by a dictator who wants to return Russia to the days of Stalin.

Bourne........reading that, it sounds like the same complaints that are made here every election.
What are you saying, Lily? That Bush & Co are running America like the Russians would?
Ack!

That's pretty ominous.
I think some of this polarization must be laid at Washington's doorstep, though.
Is Putin a tyrant? Apparently so.
Is the US a warmonger and a meddler all over the world, creating a backlash in various nations? Undoubtedly.
I wish there were more of an effort on the part of the big nations of the world to find common ground with one another and especially to honor grassroots democracy.

Yet again, no matter what the subject...it is somehow Bush's fault or it's dismissed because, hell, Bush is worse so what's the point of discussion?
Predictable and shallow.
This moveon brand of liberalism is the most gutless, intellectually vapid and lazy position a person can take.

Very true and quite frustrating. But I draw comfort in knowing that the left makes these lame irrational attacks on Bush to attempt to divert any discussion of their own miserable record. They debate emotionally instead of rationally. Loosers, the lot of them.

I don't see the US dropping political rivals into the psych ward to keep them quiet as Putin appears to have done.

There is a certain crowd of Americans who are determined to exercise their freedom to claim the US to be a great evil in the world all the while completely ignoring the fact that they couldn't make such allegations in other countries where they would be imprisoned or worse for having done so.

If this thread were about Bush there would be attacks on hillary or bill within the first page of responses. Or maybe pelosi or reid if it's an off day.
All of you conservatives are drooling moronic losers without a hope of ever making a rational statement, let alone showing the bravery in the face of adversity that this country was founded on. You are a bunch of retarded chickenhawk imbeciles.
With the obvious questions of legality that continue to hover over both of Bush's elections to the presidency, it's only typical that words like "gutless" and "lazy" and "intellectually lazy" would be used in criticisms of those who object to stealing of those elections because "righteous" and "honest" and "moral" would be an admission of guilt on the part of the neocons and God knows we can't have that. The Liberal record of stealing elections doesn't apply here, not that it has not happened, because as T&P pointed out as far as rightwingers go, whenever Bush is criticized, comments about Clinton are sure to follow. It's in the handbook and I have a copy.
Putin is just imitating what he sees from the world's most powerful democracy or is he following the wisdom that Bush learned from one of Russia's favorite sons?
"Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything."

How can we try to care about the Russian government fixing elections when we have so many problems in our own country with election fraud?
Has anything actually been done to prevent voting machines from changing the outcome of the election here in the USA?
I haven't heard about the problem being solved yet.

US election fraud is about more than just the machines.
Greg Palast has established that it is about making sure that only the "right people" vote as well.
Not counting people who have been "caged" by the GOP is a major factor in election fraud. Joe Stalin is smiling up from hell at how well the GOP has learned the lessons.

Mr. Putin is certainly taking his country towards the past with the tactics in use. ECW claims that Putin is copying what he sees in America, yet I have seen no-one in America having their political rivals committed in order to silence them.
Viola, electronic voting machines will never be safe and should never be used. There are too many ways that the vote can be modified. No-one has yet proven that votes have been changed by the use of the machines, but the fact that the security mechanisms they employ are woefully inadequate to the importance of their function is enough to relegate the technology to tasks of lesser importance.

Muwhaaaahaaaa.
This just goes to show me how right I was!
All these lib posts just reinforces my contention that they are all enigmas wrapped in predictability!
Intellectual vapidity doesn't even come close to describing what goes on in their alleged minds...it is hate and blame learned by rote.
One of these days they will come to the realization that Bush, unlike Putin, will voluntarily relinquish the Office in about a year to an elected successor. At that time these Bush bashers and America blamers will resemble scarecrows with the stuffing removed.
This intellectual laziness has atrophied their brain to a point that it is impossible for them to actually think beyond their own wooden puppet-noses.
Even the Dem candidates are still spending more time running against Bush, who will never be on a ballot again, than against the actual GOP candidates in the present race.

Yes, well you are a poopie-head.

That accusation really can't be just made about Democrats.......I'm seeing all the major Republican candidates distancing themselves as far away from Bush and his policies as they can. I think what you are missing is that both parties are doing it and both parties are trying to say how they are going to fix his mess.

Distancing from Bush is smart...running against him like the Dems seem to be doing is just an indication that they have nowhere else to go.
The Dems are lazy and intellectually atrophied after 7 years of moveon.rote.[hr]

Well.....I guess we're seeing this through different eyes, which isn't unusual. What you see as running against Bush, I see as pointing out the things wrong with his policies and saying what they will do to correct them........also I don't know what you've been listening too....I haven't heard them talk much about Bush.......they're too busy saying what they are going to do and bashing each other.

OK, lily.
Bill just said that he and Bush 41 were going to go around the worl to undo the damage Bush 43 has perpetrated upon the world.

Or this...
Sen. Hillary Clinton Slams Bush in Speech
Monday, July 11, 2005
ASPEN, Colo. — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton went on the attack against President Bush in a speech Sunday, accusing him of damaging the economy by overspending while giving tax cuts to the rich.
The Democrat from New York also accused Bush of depriving U.S. soldiers of equipment needed to fight the war in Iraq and cutting funding for scientific research.
"I sometimes feel that Alfred E. Neuman is in charge in Washington," Clinton said referring to the freckle-faced Mad magazine character. She drew a laugh from crowd when she described Bush's attitude toward tough issues with Neuman's catchphrase: "What, me worry?"
"The threat of terrorism is as close as our daily commute," said Clinton, adding that people around the world admired the "famous resilience" of the British in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks.
Would-Be Presidential Candidates Get Early Starts Early Jockeying Required for 2008 Race Clinton: Clean Up Gitmo Conservatives Push Negative Book on Sen. Clinton Frist, Clinton Offer Bill on Updating Medical Records Clintons Pay Off Whitewater Legal Debts When it came to the economy, Clinton accused the Bush administration of focusing on helping the wealthy while hurting the middle class, which she said has been key to Americans' success and stability.
She said the middle class is now being threatened by an ailing economy caused by the growing national debt, growing health care costs, the loss of pensions and the loss of manufacturing diversity. Clinton also said the U.S. needs to focus on exploring alternative energy sources to become less reliant on oil. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,162099,00.html
Where is any of this relivent, or especialy possible?
The DNC should drop her like a hot rock.
There is a new poll out there that 40% of voters would show up to vote against her...not just that they disapprove, which is still around 50%.
Obama is a much more viable candidate, but he still criticizes Bush more than Romney, Huck or Rudy.
OK, lily.

No, I don't need a link.......it's fairly common that his father went around and cleaned up his messes. I'm glad he's taking Bill with him, he's going to need the help......he's not so young anymore.

Ah see. right there is your problem! Fox news and I guess you see the wrods attack, and accuse and I look past that and see .....of damaging the economy by overspending while giving tax cuts to the rich and ...........of depriving U.S. soldiers of equipment needed to fight the war in Iraq and cutting funding for scientific research.
Are you denying that he did those things?

Balancing off overspending (which I have been very critical of) with tax cuts (which have increased revenues to the treasury like they always do).
The rich are paying more taxes than they were before the "tax cuts for the rich" of which you are so critical.
How do you explain that????
