C'mon Qwert, The Simpsons is like going to McDonalds to eat, you don't really have to do much but show up. The Constitution is like trying to prepare a 7 course dinner for a foriegn dignitary, it takes some time and energy.

I routinely ask school age children how much they are taught about civics (the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, etc), in class.
The typical response is;
"Ah,...what? Civets? Yeah, they are in danger of being extinct due to America's energy usage...What about 'em?"
Sad and worrisome.

History in general is largely ignored.
BTW, the Holocaust and the Crusades have been dropped in UK school curriculums, due to political correctness.
This is the problem when gov runs knowledge.
Marx would be very pleased.

Not only are students woefully ignorant of our founding documents, but it seems many in Washington are as well.

Must be where you are from. We have award winning schools here that teach all of that and more. Perhaps you should get involved in your local schools and offer to help them reform their curriculum.

I'll get right on that.

Well, actively participating sure as hell beats whining that the schools suck. ;)

I too would be very interested in what schools are around you that are doing this. They have not been done to my nephews schools, nor were they done for my neighbors son (who BTW is Muslim), he did his report last year on the crusades.
