MOSCOW, Nov. 26 — President Vladimir V. Putin today accused the United States of trying to taint the legitimacy of upcoming Russian parliamentary elections by pressing a group of prominent independent election observers to abandon their attempts to monitor the campaign.

I think America perceives that Putin wants to bring comunism back to Russia. As he is still involved in the government, America would prefer his opposition to win. It's our our National Security.

First of all, Communism was never build in Soviet Union. So you need to clarify what do you mean when you said bring comunism back.

Second, Communism is state capitalism, under Communist system it is illegal to own a business, even private property is illegal under Communist system, but in today's Russia there are hundrends of thousands of privately owned businesses.

So it seems like you, thompson2win, have no clue what Communism really is, what system was built in the USSR and you certainly don't know anything about today's Russia.

Actually, December, he/she is right. I've heard many people actually say that about Putin. It doesn't mean necessarily that he'll do it, but another thing about Putin is that he's former KGB and people do link that to Communism.
