General election match-ups show the New York Senator would lose against every top Republican
UTICA, New York – A new Zogby Interactive survey shows Democrat Hillary Clinton of New York would lose to every one of the top five Republican presidential contenders, representing a reversal of fortune for the national Democratic front–runner who had led against all prospective GOP opponents earlier this year.
Meanwhile, fellow Democrats Barack Obama of Illinois and John Edwards of North Carolina would defeat or tie every one of the Republicans, this latest survey shows.
11/26/2007
Clinton / McCain
38% ... 42%
Clinton / Giuliani
40% ... 43%
Clinton / Romney
40% ... 43%
Clinton/ Huckabee
39% ... 44%
Clinton / Thompson
40% ... 44%
The online survey included 9,150 likely voters nationwide, and was conducted Nov. 21–26, 2007. It carries a margin of error of +/– 1.0 percentage points.
Companion story...Mark Penn: Buckling Under the Pressure of an Unfavorable Poll
All is fair in love and war, the centuries–old proverb states. Politics is not included, but given the way the game is played in modern–day America, maybe it should be. That’s the sense I had again this morning watching Mark Penn, the chief political strategist for Democrat Hillary Clinton, denigrate our latest Zogby Interactive survey simply because it showed his client in a bad light (Link to Latest Poll Number). Penn made the contention on the MSNBC morning news program hosted by Joe Scarborough (Link to Video)
Penn mischaracterized this latest online Zogby poll as our first interactive survey ever – a bizarre contention, since we have been developing and perfecting our Internet polling methodology for nearly a decade (Zogby Intreractive Methodology), and since Penn’s company has been quietly requesting the results of such polls from Zogby for years. We always comply as part of our pledge to give public Zogby polling results to any and every candidate and campaign that asks for them. What is interesting is that no other campaign has made as many requests for Zogby polling data over the years than Penn has made on behalf of Clinton.
Because Mark Penn is a quality pollster himself, we chalk up his contention that our poll is “meaningless” as a knee–jerk reaction by a campaign under pressure coming down the stretch. Several other polls – Zogby surveys and others – have shown her national lead and her leads in early–voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire have shrunk. This is not unusual. These presidential contests usually tighten as the primaries and caucuses approach.

In a Cheveznesque move the Clinton campaign has now been reported as threatening news outlets who report on this poll.
These two things... the actual poll, and especially Hillary's attempt to keep that poll quiet, just reinforces the belief that she is afraid of the truth and will do anything to keep that truth away from the public. Info-Blackout.
She's a very scary individual. Our nation or world will never ever be the same if she gets hold of the reigns of the ultimate Superpower, America.
The good thing is that people are waking up.
I still believe she can and will win the Dem nomination, but her chances of winning the general election against any Republican is dwindling.
Thank God.

Since when was an online survey representative of anything?

It's not....If it produces results which you find troubling.
Read the companion story.
The Clinton camp sought them and relied heavily on them before.
What is interesting is that no other campaign has made as many requests for Zogby polling data over the years than Penn has made on behalf of Clinton.
No one stays on top forever.

This is kind of a stretch, don't you think, preservation?

It is a stretch Lily.

And this is actually very funny. Give me a break. Bush has done the damage. Nothing Hillary could do would be worse than what Dubya's already done. Stop being so scared of a woman President.

Hmm, preserv's commentary had nothing to do with her being a woman Viola. It has everything to do with most conservatives having seen her views and that "It takes a Village" nonsense though.

Stop being so scared of a woman President.
We don't object to a woman President, just THIS woman.
Condi is a much more substantial and qualified person for the job, than Mrs. Bill Clinton. She got to where she is today without any help from her husband, unlike Hill.
I'm still waiting for the Hillary lovers to explain what makes her qualified for the job. "Pillow-talk" with a former President does not count to a person with a brain (not to mention, it hasn't happened in 7 years...). Nor is using the power of the Presidency to get yourself out of trouble with the law.
So tell me, what are Hillary's credentials? Don't tell me about what she wants to do to us, tell me what she has accomplished. Show me how she set-out to do something, and accomplished it. Running for and winning the Senate seat doesn't count, because she only did that for herself. What did she accomplish for someone else?

Here are the Republican candidate problems...
RUDY = If he win's the nomination expect to see non-stop adds from the Dems in the South with Rudy in Drag leading the Gay Rights parade and speaking out in favor of Abortion. Religious Right (RR) voters will simply stay home.
McCAIN = He's not really advocating any change of course at all. With Independents seeing Iraq as a problem, the housing market sinking and a possible Recession on the horizon, no body but the stuanch Right will vote for more of the same.
FRED = No experience. Plain and simple. Reagan governed CA. for years; Bush I was in Congress and was VP; Bush II was governor of TX. and an aide to his father and his brother. People are having a hard time finding legislation that Thompson backed! Even staunch GOP'ers will have a hard time voting for Fred.
MITT= his religious stance will come into play. Not only because of his Mormonism, but because he was for Abortion just few short years ago. A religion that is confusing at best, just recognized Blacks as equals in the late 1960's AND he was for abortion...scratch the RR again.
So there's your top four. The GOP will, of course, get the 25%-35% of the country that is Republican. But if the RR stays home, a la Rudy or Mitt win the nod, then that number will be closer to 25%. But when you count the 30%-35% of Dems that will show up because of the almost religiously fanatic hatred for the other side that Bush and his cronies has inspired PLUS the other 30% of the country that's Independent that want a change...the numbers simply do not add up.
The GOP is looking at the reverse of what happened to Walter Mondale. :clapper:

Not at all.
During "morning Joe" with Scarborough, and Nina Brzezinski, they both discussed this.
According to both of them this was a reality, and the pressure did not confine itself to MSNBC alone. Clinton Inc was very active across the board of US media to suppress this poll. This is an attempt at an info-blackout concerning the facts of this poll.[hr]

One thing that I've learned in life is that it can always be worse.
This knowledge gives me consolation in bad times...and fear in good times, such as the good times we are now living in under Bush.
Mark my words...Hillary will make America worse, if she's elected.
All I hear from her is how she wants to change America. My question is into what?.
I'm afraid I know...Very Afraid![hr]DS:
The GOP is looking at the reverse of what happened to Walter Mondale.I read your critique of the GOP candidates...but I'm not sure how you came to your conclusion above by reading the poll numbers.
The largest lead was Huckabee, 5% over Hillary.
BTW, the reverse of what happened to Mondale is a win. You're confusing me.
Not a mean feat, however.

It's chilling that you seem to have no problem with the possibility that Clinton's performance might mimic Bush's in effectiveness. I'm beginning to wonder if that perceived possibility of her lack of effectiveness is why she is dropping substantially in the polls.

I wouldn't underestimate "pillow talk". There are rumors that at the end of Reagan's presidency, Nancy was making a lot of decisions. I would also hope with Laura's background of being an intelectual she has advised Bush more than once.[hr][quote=preservanation]

1. It didn't seem to work, did it?
2. I find it funny that those that accuse the press of being controlled by the liberals are now complaing that Hillary is somehow also controlling the media.

How is that funny?

Isn't this the same Zogby that predicted Kerry the winner in 04? :lmao:
Let me guess, conservatives now think THIS one is correct because Hillary is slipping. Watch in a few months when Hillary gains on the Zogby poll, conservatives will say "Yeah well look what happened in 04 with Kerry". Too funny :lmao:

Typical, attack the polling org.
The fact is that Clinton Campaign relies on these polls more than any other candidate. Why would they bother with inaccurate and neophyte polling orgs such as ZOGBY? LOL.
The scary thing is that Hillary and her minions sought to discredit this poll and org which they have trusted in the past, then threatened news orgs who dared to publish the poll. Even you libs who are blinded by bias and partisanship like you are in a white-out, should realize that this is a wrong thing to do.[hr]

Typical, attack the polling org.
That's exactly what some of you conservative types have done when Bush has been shown to be low in approval rating and even further less for support of the war. Let me guess though, THIS poll is right because it shows a negative for Hillary right? :lmao:
I'll remember your STRONG SUPPORT though for Zogby in a few months when Hillary is back on top and then let's see if you sing the same "support" tune you are now ;)

I never complain about blanket statements.
I just object when you claim that I've personally said something that I have not.
You are the one who cries to the heavens when others say "libs" without the qualifier "some" preceding it, not me.
I'm so used to the lies about conservatives and being impugned by some on the left that it doesn't even phase me anymore.
My suggestion is that either grow thicker skin or just use your little plastic shovel to pile another little layer of sand on yourself while sitting in your little sandbox in your safe little liberal backyard.

Really, when do I cry to the heavens, I don't even look up when I'm typing. Nice lie there.

This recent deal with the nutjop in NH, should rocket Hillary to the top of the polls.
This couldn't be better for her campaign, if she planted this guy herself.
