Betting odds are good predictors of elections. current odds are:

Hillary 1.28 : 1
Obama 6:1

Democrats over Republicans: 1.4 : 1

As a southern white MAN, I would prefer Obama over Hillary. I think Obama is using the wrong strategy, he is 'reaching out' for the ethnic vote, like all the other candidates in recent history, ie: look at Obama's webpage, lots about ethnic groups. Face it, Obama has the black & ethnic vote in the bag. And Hillary has the woman's vote in the bag. If Obama can win the primary over Hillary, he will get the woman's vote anyway because he is a democrat, charming and handsome ... so why is Obama wasting time 'reaching out' to women.

Who does that leave out? White men, who are a bit nervous about a black/ethnic or woman leader who wants to scapegoat them, and blame this group for all our societies ills, much like the white racists of the past. What I would like to hear from Obama is more of the MLK ideology that injustice to any is injustice to all, etc.. and not about trying to raise up one group by keeping down others. I have no problem with a level playing field, but I don't like the idea of leaders that suggest lowering the bar for one group by raising the bar for another, especially me. Many of all race, gender, creed & etc think this nation needs a radical change, and Obama is the man for the job. I don't want a village of idiots taking over raising my children, and I don't like the idea of destroying the family by villifying men, replacing husbands and fathers with a Nanny state, child support and welfare which is the overarching theme of radical feminist/Hillary style politics.

Be the man, Obama, and men will vote for you. Working White men are just as tired of being screwed by government, taxes, and injustice as are working black men. Be the MAN, and the candidate for change, and talk about how WE are going to pull our nation up by it's bootstraps, with a lot of hard work, and courage and perserverence ... and we men and women, black and white, and etc are going to live in a better world for our EFFORTS.

Another issue Obama has wrong on his website is in regard to the current housing crisis, and he turns off intelligent voters by scapegoating mortgage lenders, he needs to turn this around and get on the bandwagon with lenders, fha, fnma, realtors, etc. to encourage homeownership and AFFORDABLE mortgages, which means lower interest rates. Don't blame the lenders who made the loans at low rates, do something about stabilizing mortgage rates at a low interest, to ensure continued, sustainable economic growth and prosperity for EVERYONE.

I agree with this post and I think obama should consider making the lending issue a main on in his campaign. step up and be the leader on this issue, encourage lenders to fix the problems they've created by helping people refinance into reasonable loans.

Obama's my candidate, and has been since he appeared in Austin in February. I support him for a number of reasons, none of them tied too closely to race or gender. I'd have no qualms about supporting Clinton, but I think Obama is simply a better choice.

Many business interests exercise undue influence in US policy today--I've always considered insurance and pharmaceuticals to be the prime offenders, but the banking "industry" has certainly been busy inventing new ideas to make money without contributing anything tangible to the society. I guess I'm an old populist in this, and I'd be glad to see Obama step up on the issue.

I fear, however, that taking on too many corrupt business interests in a single campaign is a recipe for failure: any successful candidate is gonna need some strong support from a significant segment of the business community.

By the way, Patriotvote, welcome to Democracy Forums!

Obama: the only reasonable choice for the Democratic nominee.

He has yet to appear in Maryland, though.

Obama, much like Edwards has one message, one speech, and that is exactly why Hillary Clinton will beat him. He's a fresh face who promises change [ahahahahahahahahahahahaha] and an 'outsider's' touch in DC. He is a likable person and as far as I can tell an honest human being. He will lose to Hillary Clinton.

Obama has the woman's votein the bag with Oprah's endorsement.

Due to their hissy fit about Michigna moving up their primaries Obama, Edwards, Richardson and Biden all removed their names from the primary ballot and refused to debate here. I don't know if they think they have enough support with just the obvious union backing, but it's rather insulting to some of us voters.

NC I thought I was reading your post wrong but then I figured out the joke and the irony in it. Good one.
