Yea and if she were a man and conservative, you would be high five-ing each other. I am sure you can find as many damning quotes taken out of context about all of your candidates too.

Of course, we are not as threatened by your candidates as you are by ours. ;)

Out of context? How do you take that mess out of context AnnE?

Egads, Clinton appears to be a cursing stylist.

AnnEsthesia
11-19-2007, 12:19 PM
Well, for one thing, most of them are 'quotes' that were given by a second party to a third party for use in a book. You do not think that what someone says and what someone reports to another person is said at a later date is ever different?

Only one-fifth of those are direct quotes that are not recollections to an author.

I would have to agree that they are hearsay and nothing more, but I wouldn't have called them out of context. :D

If that stuff is true, Clinton certainly has a flair for the profane.

Hillary's use of blue language has been widely known and famous inside the beltway for more than a decade. The media just doesn't focus on it.
Stephanopoulos, Donna Brasil, Dick Morris and many others who have worked with her all say the exact same thing. It is no secret. Those of us who listen to a myriad of media sources are well aware of this as well.
I'm surprised this "revelation" shocks some people.

Thank you for showing that hillary is patriotic:

Where is the G-damn f**king flag? I want the G-damn f**king flag up every f**king morning at f**king sunrise." (From the book "Inside The White House" by Ronald Kessler, p. 244 - Hillary to the staff at the Arkansas Governor's mansion on Labor Day, 1991).....

"No matter what you think about the Iraq war, there is one thing we can all agree on for the next days - we have to salute the courage and bravery of those who are risking their lives to vote and those brave Iraqi and American soldiers fighting to protect their right to vote." (Was posted on Hillary Clinton's senate.gov web site on 1/28/05)

All you conservatives should be thrilled at the chance of having a president who is so passionate about the American flag and American Soldiers. Isn't that what all those right wingers spend their days whining about? I wonder what their president thinks of the flag:

I would have to agree that they are hearsay and nothing more, but I wouldn't have called them out of context.

Agreed, though considering a bunch of these seem to be random explosions I'm guessing the out of context point isn't far off.

Being "hearsay" and since we don't know it's true, why comment on the individual making the comments?

I ask, because as time goes on and those that hate Bush and Cheney write books many Conservatives here will decry those books as "hearsay" and untruths. Yet Conservatives here have no problem commenting on Hillary's potty mouth.

Remember kiddies, that ole saying is true, what comes around goes around...hmmm, I wonder if I can find some slanderous and "hearsay" quotes about Reagan, Bush I and Bush II? I wonder...:ponder:

Hmm, could it be because we are on a discussion forum DS? One where people are free to discuss political figures. The left has been discussing commentary for which they have little to no substantiation for years now and we debate that commentary and move on.

The rational and civil poster will notice my use of the word IF in the commentary, it is a small word that makes the commentary conditional.[hr]

I have to admit though, I find his writing on the flag completely unacceptable and offensive.

That was my point. I doubt there is anyone here who has not had something happened and spouted off out of anger or frustration. If taken out of context, then it would be considered one way, but if we knew the surrounding events, it could be understandable. If I was surrounded by people who almost knocked me down because of a crush of people and I was upset and scared and I said to "Get the fuck away from me!", that is a different thing than me just randomly saying, "Get the fuck away from me."

Is Yakhont26 praising Hillary for her colorful language since he uses the swear word bitch in his title? I mean he must think potty mouth is a good thing, right, since he is one himself.

Meanwhile who gives a fuck if Hillary swears? What the fuck does that have to do with whether or not she can be the one to clean up Bush's horrendous mess? For fuck's sake, who gives a shit?

LOL!

Especially if she uses her words to keep the flag flying and the constitution safe.

Are Americans really so prudish and ignorant to think this is a bad thing?

AlonzoMourning23
11-19-2007, 04:57 PM
I don't think they're prudish, I think Hillary summed up the problem a long time ago:

"I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas, but what I decided to do was to fulfill my profession which I entered before my husband was in public life."

But the commentary in question is not proven to be true, as you - yourself - stated. Ergo why comment on it? Is it now acceptable to begin to post bullshit about the candidates or the current POTUS on things they MIGHT have said? If so, I read somewhere that Bush said "FUCK GOD!" Now I know this comment is "hearsay" and "If that stuff were true..." it would certainly be unsettling.

Comments about the hearsay and probably untrue statement made by our President?

The rational and civil poster will notice my use of the word IF in the commentary, it is a small word that makes the commentary conditional

I hope the rational and serious poster will notice the inclusion of the possibility of hearsay and that it's probably untrue that IF George W. Bush said "Fuck God" how bad that'd be...but let's talk about it anyway, since I used "IF"...:innocent:

ViolaLee

But that's the point I made, Boogy. Bush didn't say that. It was all my fabrication. Just as nobody knows if Hillary said those things.

So let's not comment on Hillary or anyone else on what somebody said they might have said. Because IF we go down that road we can start thread after thread here just as the original poster did here, with quotes that are, to use your word, "hearsay."

Let's simply not stir the shitpot just to stir it with inflammatory threads like this one. It was only started to get each side at each others throats. Let's not give anyone that satisfaction!

It's interesting that you view Clinton's behavior as a seperate issue from her political affiliation but you equate Bush's behavior as an indictment of the right. Again you're applying a double standard.

As for derogatory comments, I haven't made any unless you consider the truth derogatory. I'm stating my opinion about liberals in general and Clinton in particular, just as you do about Bush and conservatives.

So Hillary cusses like a sailor and abuses her underlings. Who cares?

Why is that?
It would make me more confidant if her persona was honestly portrayed in the media, instead of her hiding behind the cookie maker image they portray.

An interesting and derogatory generalization about conservatives, wouldn't you say?

The truth is just that, regardless of your acceptance of it. You choose to catagorize it as a derogatory remark. Characterizing what you describe as "broad brush attacks" by me as derogatory remarks is, in light of your own remarks clearly disengenuous, but not unexpected.

Wasn't Carter some sort of reverend or preacher at one point?

No, but sanctimonious "conservatives" like Michael Reagan have labeled him so...

I'm not saying I am a fan of his...personally I haven't found any US presidents to respect since maybe Grover Cleveland...

But he doesn't have a rep for cussing...

AnnE, you are right. I apologize for this mistatement of your characterization. It's actually a derogatory generalization about Neo-Cons, not Conservatives. I stand corrected.

Yea and if she were a man and conservative, you would be high five-ing each other. I am sure you can find as many damning quotes taken out of context about all of your candidates too.

Of course, we are not as threatened by your candidates as you are by ours. ;)

Wrong...I couldn't help but read that and get MORE respect for Hillary. If she is gonna be our President I gotta know that she can kick ass. The only negative is that I feel bad for Bill having to deal with this bitch...no wonder he fucks ugly fat interns.

Hillary being foul-mouthed imho is only a plus. Can you imagine Putin calling her up to talk shit about arms and Hillary's response would be something like "Are you fucking nuts you commie KGB prick? Either you get those fucking missiles to stand-down or I am coming knocking on your door. You hear me mother fucker?"

hehe...I love it.

An interesting perspective. I like it. Don't worry about Bill. I'm sure that he's drilling anything with a low IQ and a skirt.

It's one of the reasons I was attracted to Bush..he seemed unpolished and more of a regular guy. Hillary has a cold exterior but beneath that...is more ice. :)

I just think we can't have a pussy in the whitehouse (no pun intended) and Gore and Kerry were both pussies. Hillary...I really can't see her taking shit from anyone. While I might not like everything she wants to do...I think in the end she will get things done that most americans want and I can be satisfied with that.

I never pictured Hillary as some little demure Souther belle. I'm not personally shocked or my opinion of her hasn't changed one bit because she seems to have a large vocabulary. In fact, it may have just gone up.[hr]

I hope the rational and serious poster will notice the inclusion of the possibility of hearsay and that it's probably untrue that IF George W. Bush said "Fuck God" how bad that'd be...but let's talk about it anyway, since I used "IF"...:innocent:

I would find it just as offensive no matter who said it DS.

Ah yes.......but your requirements for proof (http://www.democracyforums.com/showthread.php?tid=7613&page=7) changes when it's a Democrat.:nana:

Umm, nooooo.

I do believe that from the 2nd or 3rd post I made in the thread I pointed out that this was hearsay lily, and have made precious little other commentary other than IF she said any of it she had a flair for the profane.

Actually you went on for pages on what is hearsay and what a source is..........but then I didn't expect you to stick to it anyway. Just thought I'd point it out, for the memory impaired. Different standards and all that.........like I already said, I never thought of Hillary as some type of Souther belle, and I doubt too many others did. As Labrocca already pointed out, I'd rather have someone that will tell other countries how it's going to be and not be a shrinking violet, but also have diplomacy.

I was speaking about this thread lily, not the totally unrelated one you tried to attach and claim a focus on without taking the time to notice that I never claimed Hillary Clinton said those things.

Thanks for playing lowball yet again lily. :madlaugh:

At least he doesn't get a case of tight ass indignance like Hillary did after the last debate.

If I had to vote for a Democrat she'd probably be my pick.

El, he's a miserable public speaker. I watch Bushisms on YouTube for laughs. But unlike Hillary after the last Democratic debate, he doesn't whine and throw a tantrum when he's criticized about his public speaking shortcomings.

This person doesn't have the temperament to be a leader....Hillary. Nothing to do with her mouth, it's her mind and the direction she wants to take this country.

I didn't think it was possible but from what I've seen Hilary might actually make a worse president than George Bush, it wouldn't be easy, but I think she could manage it if she really tried.
