Plesges are one thing Qwerty, but the RNC is another. It doesn't matter what the people think it is what the RNC thinks. And it seems they thing Guiliani is the message. Marke my words, Ron Paul is going to fail because he doesn't represent to the RNC of what a Republican should be and it is the RNC that chooses the Nominee not the people.
The question is will he go independent if he loses, and so far he has said no, so sounds like you have lost already because like the DNC, the RNC is run by corporates and big business and the Religious Right has already endorsed Guiliani. Ron Paul has already lost the Republican nominee. The question is, will he go rogue and go independent and from what he has said, he said if he loses the RNC nominee he wouldn't run as an independent.

As of right now, the RNC for the most part is about as corrupt and scummy as they can be. The traditional values of the party were once good things like high morals and customs, but now they've been eroded to greedy businessmen and corporations that serve the rich. Ron Paul doesn't need to represent the RNC now, he needs to represent the United States Constitution, and he has done that multiple times.

Every vote for Ron, is a vote for Hillary. I hope you've practiced, "Hail to the Squaw", because that's what you will be singing on Jan 20th, 09.

How do you figure that, Ron and Hilary are two completely different candidates.

He's claiming that supporting Ron Paul is futile and therefore tantamount to supporting a Democrat. This argument is only compelling if you see a substantial difference between the Democratic "frontrunners" and the Republican "frontrunners"....I don't and am therefore unswayed by that argument.

The problem is not "A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Hilary", the problem is that Ron Paul isn't even going to get the nomination from the RNC. And since he is not going to run as an independent (His words), then Ron Paul is irrelevant.
The RNC listens to corporate and religious right money and that is bagged on Guiliani right now. The fact Republicans think they have a choice in their canddiates is sad.
I'm not saying the DNC is any better, only saying that is the reality of the situation. It will most likely be Hillary and Guiliani squaring off.

Elrathin, I don't disagree with your conclusion. It will be Rudy v. Hillary. I've been predicting this since the media declared them frontrunners almost two years ago. I wouldn't call RP 'irrelevant', however he has awakened the 18-24 year-old demographic which is fairly 'relevant'.

I use the term "irrelevant" to describe his electability with the RNC and thus the 08 election not the person himself. He has done a lot of good making people get interested in politics especially in that demographic.
Personally the way things are going down with the RNC and DNC, I wish he would run as an independent just to make things interesting. Right now I see the race as being which partisan devil do you want to elect.
I guess that is just another reason I don't care for Ron Paul. He isn't willing to go the distance to change America. If he really believed what he has said about this country and needing change, then he would run as an independent if he doesn't get the pick. But it seems to me he is just pandering to get some votes and if he doesn't get the pick then his attitude is "Oh well".
what's really going to be the kicker is how he reacts with whomever wins the RNC candidacy. Will he support them fully knowing they aren't whats good for America?

Total BULLSHIT!
Ron is polling well against Hillary...[hr]I totally disagree here...
We have NEVER seen a campaign like this before, we have +70.000 non-paid individuals spreading the message, we have people paying ads for Ron Paul from their own pocket, next there they´re planning for a Ron Paul Blimp.
I think it´s far more powerfull that "normal" people have conversations with normal people than a tv ad from some candidate.
Then Ron Paul is the only one who offers different way.
I really don´t understand why you want to see your country to collapse ?
Empires allways come to an end when the money is destroyed...
It´s pretty amusing that some of Americans decide their candidate by "who has chance"...OMFG!

It's funny that you don't realize Ron Paul's biggest competition and that is the RNC, you know the people that decide who is the Republican candidate is going to be. Ron Paul already said he wouldn't run as an independent so if he doesn't get the nomination, he is done.
The RNC has already chosen and that is Guiliani, Ron Paul has already lost the biggest battle and many are to naive to realize it. Keep sending in your money though I am sure Ron Paul will donate it to Guiliani.
