Anyone remember the Daisy ad? This has already been pulled from Tancredo's site.

Only in America do you find political ads playing on peoples basic fear of death. Back in Canada the political ads were more about how the canidates could help you.

A group of citizens need to be sent to Washington on our behalf. They need to take everyone from Bush to the most obscure politicion out for an afternoon of electro shock just to get them back on track.

I have to laugh at this crim......when the headhunters were "courting" my son, they would all take him over to Canada, for the better beer and totally nude dancing......maybe that would also work for the politicians?

The difference between Tancredo's ad and the LBJ ad back in 1964 was that LBJ won his race by a genuine landslide, and we were still deep in the cold war. A nuclear holocaust seemed a distinct possibility, and a good many of us were truly scared about what might happen during a Goldwater presidency. LBJ's ad was way over the top, but it captured the fearful atmosphere of the times.

I suppose some people have a high level of fear about immigration: personally, I don't really feel threatened by it. But I'm glad Tancredo pulled the ad. There's already enough hysteria in the campaign. Most of it seems to be directed at Clinton.
