On today's "The Situation Room," Sen. Hillary Clinton opened up about her widely-discussed performance during last week's MSNBC debate. (You can watch the video here on Breitbart.tv)

"I wasn't at my best the other night," Clinton told CNN's Candy Crowley. "We have had a bunch of debates, and you know, I wouldn't rank that up in my very top list." Following the debate, Clinton's opponents for the 2008 Democratic nomination (as well as Hillary detractors generally) criticized the New York senator for being dishonest and evasive, and for flip-flopping on several issues.

But Clinton disagreed with some of the criticism:

I have answered probably -- oh, I don't know, more than 5,000 questions in the last 10 months. And I have been very clear about where I stand and what I want to do for the country. I have laid out very specific plans on how we are going to have a different energy agenda, how we are going to have a health care plan that covers everybody, how we are going to improve our education system and all of the other issues that people talk to me about, as well as what we need to do to restore America's leadership around the world. And I have even put out how I'm going to pay for each and every one of the policies that would cost money.

Crowley also pressed Clinton about the White House records from her husband's administration and whether there was anything she could do to expedite their release.

We have tried and, as I said, he has done more than any other president and has never withheld any document that has been processed to be ready to be released.

During the debate, Clinton struck some as evasive when it came to her answer about driver's licenses and illegal immigrants. Crowley asked Clinton, "If I wrote a story that said: 'Absent a broad illegal immigration bill, Hillary Clinton agrees about giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants,' is that correct?" Clinton responded:

No. What I have said is that I support what governors are trying to do. And governors are on the front lines because of the failures to get comprehensive immigration reform. There are already eight states that issues driver's licenses without any verification of citizenship. That is a decision that the governors and legislatures and the people of those states have made. ... I think that if you go back and look at the complexity of this issue, I don’t think a lot of these hard questions lend themselves to raising your hand. And I know that that’s easier in a 30 second context to try to do.

Finally, Clinton addressed the heat she's received from the other Democratic candidates following the debate:

If they want to use their energy attacking me, that’s their choice. I am going to use my energy focusing on a new energy policy and so much else. I’m not running anybody else’s campaign and I love what Harry Truman said if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. And I’m really comfortable in the kitchen. So I’m staying in.
How many political operatives does it take to figure that out?

Is that before or after they changed the light bulb?

Well in her defense, it's true you don't have to be a good public speaker to become president. Just look at Bush.

Hi El.
Your right.
He is not the best speaker, and never have I claimed him to be so.
So if Hillary is elected she will join the ranks of GWB?
Priceless.

BTW, everyone knows that an admitted liar and adulterer can make a good President. So why can't a man who, on occasion garbles his words, make a good President as well?
Ad hom, my friend.
Ad hominem.

Irrespective of this...
always a pleasure, my friend.

Why post shit like your last three words?

Back on topic, Hillary is still doing fine. Preserv, show us the other Dem candidate that is coming close to her.

Also show us how the Religious Right will vote when faced with Rudy and his acceptance of Abortion, Gay Rights and his adulterous affairs.

People want to compare Hillary or Obama or Edwards to some standard out there. But in the end who ever wins the nomination will be compared to their opposite number, right now that's Rudy vs. Hillary. If it stays that way Rudy and the GOP wouldn't be able to bring up Adultery, Gay Rights and/or Abortion without being hoisted by their own Petard.

Hence the reason the Dem's will own the White House in '09:ecstatic:

I don't take too much stock in polls but...
A CBS/New York Times poll of 1,273 likely Iowa voters conducted Nov. 2-11 showed the frontrunners in both parties feeling heat from their competitors.

In the Democratic race, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards were shown in a near tie — with 22 and 23 percent respectively — and catching up to Hillary Clinton, who polled at 25 percent.

Another Iowa poll of 600 likely voters from each party conducted by Strategic Vision, LLC from Nov. 9-11 showed similar standings.
I'm sorry if this jolts you out of your sandbox, but you have to stand up and look around once in a while.
