But most people do like war movies for the same reason that people like horror movies and science fiction movies. They're entertaining.
The issue of people liking Bush is a different matter entirely.

Yeah well boogy thinks the lack of attendance at politically-themed movies is an indication that people support the iraq war and bush. I think it's just because they're not funny, and not entertaining.

Have you seen any of "The War" series on PBS?
It's a must see.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. IMHO, I think people are just tired of politics and shitty Hollywood movies.

I agree with you TP. I saw Redition last week. Not what I expected and not very entertaining. Meryl Streep was terrible.
If someone put together a movie about Bush with all his screwup Bushisms from his speeches that might be a box office hit as a comedy.:madlaugh:[hr]

Excellent series. Kudos to Ken Burns for a job very well done.
My two favorite war movies are "Saving Private Ryan" for its accuracy and "Platoon" because I served in a similar unit in Vietnam.

Because those that are not sheep don't need youtube propaganda to know what's right.
T&P...your first post is the exact type of bullcrap the left is producing en masse.
"no one"...??? I disagree. And exactly what parameter do you have for this assertion? If it's polls then I ask you to look at your precious approval ratings for your democrat controlled congress. Stings to have truth and reality thrown at you ehh.
Reality buddy...look for it.

Are you saying that's why people who dislike bush and the iraq war don't go to see anti-bush anti-war movies? Or are you saying that's why the right doesnt make "bullcrap" movies?

First of all, it was an obvious exaggeration about bush, 30% of america thinks the guy is great. Secondly, disapproving of the democrats in congress is not an endorsement of bush. Let me help you out with the math here.
30% approve of bush.. so 70% either think he's bad or are ambivilent.
25% approve of dem congress.. so 75% ditto ditto ditto.
Assuming 100% of america is too partisan to support bush and the dem congress, that leaves 45% of america that like neither. That's nearly a majority, so your attempt to paint a pretty dichotomy fails.
Your bullcrap response was invalid, and it's not because you own this site.

Actually read that thread and my first comment T&P and you will see that you have misrepresented my words. I said specifically that it was not a vindication of the administration.

C'mon Labrocca, you know why the approval ratings of Congress are low:
They won't stand up to Bush and get us out of Iraq.
Do you have a different explanation of why Democrats are giving Congress low approval numbers? (We know why Republicans are...)

..and everyone in the Movie Industry is a hack, Liberal Progressive stink-monger!
Hollywood has a history of making anti-"President" movies when Republicans are in the White House, and flowery happy-go-lucky feel good films when Demon-crats are in the White House.
No surprise here.[hr]

Maybe, because there are many people who want our troops home, IN VICTORY INSTEAD OF DEFEATED perhaps? I know you might want our military to come home embarresed, but many American's don't, even normal Democrats.
You know before Vietnam-era "progressives" started whining, Amercans wanted to win wars, not loose them.

really?
Are you really saying that most Democrats want us to stay in Iraq and 'win?'
Wow. Here's a link or two to bring you up to speed on what America thinks about Iraq:
http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htm
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/06/26/poll.iraq.schneider/index.html
Now, do you care to give a fact-based response to the question?
and this:
I know you might want our military to come home embarresed
Is just unadulterated absurdity.
If insulting people with ridiculous strawmen is this is your way of arguing for the War, you're going to lose this argument.

A lot of expertly crafted polling questions to be sure, however, the one questions that is never asked is, "Do you want our troops to loose in Iraq, yes or no?", seeing how this is what pulling out now means.
Show me THAT poll, and I will concede that America is now the land of Defeatism.

LOL!! You have GOT to be kidding! You just said that Dems don't want the US to win, so my comment is accurate and a true statement. Why did you take umbridge with my comment, seeing how it was exactly what you just affirmed to me, with those stupid polls?
"Are you really saying that most Democrats want us to stay in Iraq and 'win?'"
Sound familiar?
You Dems are so twisted-up in a knot, you can't even agree with your own statements! Stop drinking the Kool-aid, monkey-man, it'll rot your teeth.

Really? Define victory and tell me how this adminstration has worked for it in the past years.

So now we're still there so we won't be embarrassed?

Interesting......can you explain the Korean war?
