ROCHESTER, N.H. -- Republican presidential candidate John McCain told workers of small weapons factory that he not only wants to catch Osama Bin Laden if elected, but said he "will shoot him with your products".

"I will follow Osama Bin Laden to the gates of hell and I will shoot him with your products," McCain said.

McCain told reporters afterward he was joking when he made the comment at Thompson Center Arms in Rochester.

"I certainly didn't mean I would actually shoot him. I am certainly angry at him, but I was only speaking in a way that was trying to emphasize my point," McCain said. "I would not shoot him myself."

He's a senile old man. Poor guy.

This notes a real concern I have about McCain. His age, 70+, isn't so much an issue as the hard life he's led--the years in the Vietnamese prison take an inevitable toll on someone, and I think there's real reason to be concerned about his continuing health. This has nothing to do with partisan politics. There is evidence, I believe, that people who've suffered extreme hardship, as McCain has, are more likely to become victims of Alzheimer's.

On the other hand, the remarks he made at the arms plant will likely cause enough people to worry about his stability that he won't be considered seriously for the republican nomination

He has taken himself out of contention for the Republican nomination by his actions and decisions for the last two years. This is a pathetic attempt to sound macho.

It would be better for everyone, including himself, if he would just end his campaign and stop trying to make a political impression. His day has passed and even though I salute his service and his sacrfice, it is painful to watch this type of pandering for votes that have long since been lost.

Maybe he bought some Smith and Wesson shares and decided to make new wars if he became president so he could profit from them. That would be a new thing for a president to do wouldn't it?
One cannot help but wonder what he would really do when confronted by Osama, would he shoot, or just stand and pee in his pants? :D
