Thought this was an interesting twist concerning the letter from Harry Reid along with his co-signers to Clear Channel complaining about Rush Limbaugh. Seems Rush is selling the letter on e-bay and has challenged those who signed the letter to match whatever amount it garners as all the proceeds are going to the charity mentioned below. Since they all voiced their strong support for our troops, I don't think they would have a problem putting their money where their mouth is, do you?[/b]

Original Harry Reid/Rush Limbaugh Smear Letter "Phony Soldiers" Signed by 41 Senators, Charity Auction

Up for auction is the original letter signed by 41 Democrat senators. This historic document may well represent the first time in the history of America that this large a group of U.S. senators attempted to demonize a private citizen by lying about his views. As such, it is a priceless memento of the folly of Harry Reid and his 40 senatorial co-signers.

The entire proceeds of this auction.. the entire high bid... will be donated to The Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, a registered charity which provides financial assistance to the children of fallen Marines and federal law enforcement officers.

I wonder what that will be worth 200 years from now. Famous senators like Ted Kennedy (probably will retain a higher place in history than kerry), probably 1 president (hillary) and a good chance at two (obama).

It's at $15,100 now.

That's a nice few pages of collectable signatures! Did Robert Byrd actually sign himself? I'd have thought his sig would be pretty shaky at his advanced age! And it's smooth as silk.

Why would Rush think the Senators who signed it should match the winning price when the ebay offer is mocking them? Rush has got to be the biggest asshole out here...

I wouldn't do it, if I were them. Rush is just baiting them. He's too much.

What would happen if Hillary Clinton says, after the auction is over, "I'll match the money myself"?

How would Rush respond?

Would it soften her disapproval rating?

Would the shock be so great that rush wouldn't even be able to speech on his next show?

I get the feeling this would be rush for at least a few hours after hearing the news:

Yeah, he'd bash her just as much as he always does. I don't think Hillary or any of them should give him the publicity.

None of them will retain a higher place in history than Rush.

Rush should be forgotten to history. Unfourtonatley, even people like him are remembered for their ignorance.

I'd laugh if I thought you were joking.

You honestly think a radio personality will be better remembered than powerful politicians?

"Should", in your eyes, and "what will be" in reality, are two different things.
Methinks ye protest too much.[hr]

Sorry, pres. I think that the conservatives are doing far more damage.
The difference is, that they are really the ones destroying what America stands for.
