I do not like Mitt Romney. I was made unhappy while watching this clip of Romney explaining to a wheelchair-bound lifelong muscular dystrophy sufferer that he would indeed arrest him for his "crime". I don't understand how someone who considers himself so religious could so clearly lack compassion: Romney confronted (http://gloob.tv/news/romney_confronted_medical_pot?article=1976)

Not only would he have him arrested.....he couldn't get away from him fast enough! The guy is right. I have a friend who had a script for medical marijuna and the stuff does not work.

I think the first candidate that comes out and says he is for legalizing pot will be surprised how many votes he would get.

That was a pretty shamefull display by Romney. I hate when people running for the highest office are afraid to actually discuss the really tough subjects. This isn't just a republican problem, most of the candidates on both sides are afraid to address any of the tough issues. Even on issues like gay marriage , abortion, illegal immigration they tend to give vague wishy washy answers that they think will not offend someone. I think most candidates are afraid to stand on their own personal convictions except a select few. I wish more candidates were like Ron Paul, or Dennis Kucinich. They might not be electable, but they definitely have integrity and are not afraid to speak the truth as they see it.

Did you mean to say synthetic marijuana?

That was shameful. Mitt Romney is a big fake.

Romney has the best chance of winning.
Maryjane is a minefield with his base.
Best to toe the line.
Reformation of the laws are coming.
It just might not be tomorrow.
That still won't stop people from smoking if they got them!
Hooooo Boy!

I had a work colleague in London who smoked Pot to ease his MS symptoms because the legal medication made him nauseous. It does work according him. He had loads of unopened boxes of MS medication to prove it.

Hey..
We Agree.
The laws on pot here in America are draconian and head in the sand short sighted.
According to the current laws and powers that be, pot is still considered a "communist drug".
Silly really!
Jeeze, we prescribe way more dangerous, addicting and powerful drugs here for a hang-nail.
The schools here prescribe ritalin and Prozac to our children on no more than the desire of some teacher with no medical degree.
The over medication of this nation is palatable, but pot for a cancer patient..?
Ridiculous

I agree, people who NEED pot for their confirmed medical conditions should be able to have it. However, "It is Saturday and I want to mellow" is not a valid condition. And if a medical user was found selling what they are growing, they should be treated as any other drug dealer.

The problem is that one can grow it in the yard.
Deregulation is the only way.
Tax it they will, but....Render to Caesar.
The money will probably for cessation classes!
Just like they do with tobacco. LOL
Fiends!

I don't have a problem with mormons or mormonism or religion in general. I just have a problem with someone who prizes compassion and morality and claims to adhere to a strict path so clearly having no compassion and being a sleazy shallow politician. Regardless of my own opinion that marijuana should be decriminalized - I watched the video and realized there were thousands of ways that he could have handled that situation, and he chose the most fearful way, you can see the fear in his eyes.

Pot should be legal period. There isn't a justification for booze to be legal and cigarettes and yet pot isn't. It's just hypocritical and inconsistent. However you can blame dupont for the reason it's illegal. When a hemp engine was built...suddenly pot was banned within 2 days.

Suprisingly the Wikipedia page is accurate.

I knew this information 20 years ago.

Hemp would probably stop global warming pollutants almost immediately. Hemp could save America if not the world. It would save the rain forest, reduce emmisions, and create cheaper energy. Farmers would have a new easy to grow crop.
