Oh man have you missed out Zo, I guess I just assume everyone has been exposed to the wonders of Lego because I have kids that build with them. Lego is awesome. That little unit on the middle left hand side of the video is a limited function PLC (programmable logic controller) and it uses a modified ladder logic type programming language.

Legos, they aren't just for (little) kids anymore.

Checkout their robotics starter kits:

All I had was just lego's. I just remember my parents hated whenever I wanted to buy one of those lego kits, mainly because I was horrible at following directions and usually they ended up building it.

I built a lego town once though.

Lego is the single greatest invention for a childs toy ever. I still have most of the sets I built set up around my house. I have the first castle set Lego made over my bed.
Boogy, you hear of Lego Mindstorm? I bet you your kids would love it. Nevermind, it seems you have. You know that you can get high school scolarships off of it?

We have some of the MindStorms stuff and the kids love it. It is awesome to watch them sit and not only build something original but then to see them program it to do something cool and original as well.

My oldest even came up with a way to do some advanced functions that simulated limit switch input for a variable travel servo driven claw that he built. Lego has really become one of the best learning toys I have ever seen.

Boogy, do you know about the Lego Robotics competition? It may just be a Canadian thing, but basically they get a bunch of teens together give the lego peices give them objectives and say go and who ever does the best usually wins cash.

Yes, we are not a part of that competition but are running a team this year in the BEST Robotics Competition in Sherman Texas at TI.

The cool thing about the BEST competition is that you are give raw materials and can only fabricate your bot from those materials. It is pretty cool.
