I just want to know who all the teenager and college people are on this forum. I also want to know about how you deal with politics in school.
I'll go first.
I am crimzonsol. I have gone to ground in my political identity in school because it no longer seems to be acceptable to be political in school any more.

Hey, I'm Saigio. I don't get much time right now for political talk in my school, but I when I have some social studies class next trimester.
I'm probably gonna try to become more active in my school soon.
I'm a senior in high school.

NortheastCynic here, 19 year-old sophomore in college. Obviously I talk politics with my fellow poli sci majors and occasionally the topic comes up with others, but only rarely. Being an anarcho-capitalist in Boston is very entertaining though.

Yeah. Well a lot of my friends just don't care. I'm already starting to harass them about registering to vote. It's going to be easy. I'm going with positive reinforcement. If you register, I buy you beer. No registering, no beer/wine/tequila/vodka/tutty fruity nonsense/rum/whisky/whatever.

Yeah go with some dumbed down "fight the power" slogans possibly adapted rage against the machine lyrics as well.

One step at a time. Registering them first. Then educating them. Then they decide whom they want to vote for. They are probably going to be mostly for immigrant's rights and healthcare so I am thinking they will go for Hillary so I'll gather info on those candidates. There was a Newsweek or Time article awhile back that had a grid of candidates and a shirt bit on their opinions on lots of issues. I'll probably gather information on 3-4 candidates per person then talk about it with them to help them figure out whom to vote for.
Even if they end up voting for someone I hate, I want them to vote and more importantly vote for someone they want to after they thought about it and came to the conclusion themselves. I refuse to tell them whom I want them to vote for. It's too easy; they need to think for themselves. If after reading and listening we like the same candidate then I would obviously love it. But if not, I am happy that they come to a conclusion thinking for themselves. That is the most important thing.

Gona register after I turn 18 in December. The school actually promotes it here, highschool students over 18 are handed a voter reg card and told to fill it out. They take it to the courthouse for you and all that.

19 yr old College Freshman in a Community College ready to get the hell out. As far as talking politics only time I talked about it was when I was in highschool in History class had alot of interesting discussions on it but as far as College haven't had a Political Science class yet , I've had a few fights about politics at the job I work where most people are liberals and I go to toe with them. After a discussion once about it with a women co-worker I've decided to never talk about it again because sometimes It can be a really touchy subject. I've learned not to talk about Politics or Religion.
