We Need Your Help (9/24/07)

Our campaign is at a tipping point -- one that will determine if Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination for president.
Last quarter, you helped raise more money for the Ron Paul 2008 campaign than the political pundits thought possible. I assure you that we will surpass our total from last quarter. The question is by how much.
We have one week left. Our goal is to raise $500,000 online by September 30th. That boost will give us the best fundraising quarter yet, and it will show that our campaign is getting stronger by the day.
$500,000 online in seven days will be a challenge. But I know we can make it.
If you have donated already, will you donate the same amount again? That will help immensely. Also, will you ask three friends to match your donation? That will quickly get us over the top by September 30th.
Check the graphic on our website http://www.ronpaul2008.com to track our progress. You may donate directly by clicking here: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate
Thank you for your help!

Ron Paul is a phoney who is not liked or supported by the Republican Party. My dog has a better chance of winning the Presidency. Even if for some fluke that he won, I would definatly vote Democrat along with several people I know because even they would do a better job then he would.

So I see you're happy, yet you still haven't answered my question. What is he going to do with $500K that he couldn't do without it?

What makes $500k "pivotal" for his campaign?

I see a lot of politicians saying they "NEED" more money, but they don't say what they are specifically going to do with that extra money nor do they say why it is soo important.

Message from Ron Paul: Let's Do It! (9/27/07)

Frankly, I’m floored. And very, very grateful. Our $500,000 online fundraising goal for the end of the quarter was reached so fast it took my breath away. But we can't stop now. So I am raising the bar to $1 million by midnight, September 30th. I am so grateful for all you have done. Would you help me with this?

Whenever I face a hit piece on tv, or a smear in a newspaper column, I remember my secret weapon: you. In establishment politics, people make campaign contributions because they want something: a contract, a subsidy, a special-interest deal. But the thousands of people who contribute to this campaign want no favors from big government -- which must come at the expense of their fellow citizens, and sometimes our soldiers' lives. They want only what is their God-given, natural, and constitutional right: their freedom.

What a difference from the other campaigns. What a refreshing change from politics as usual. What a sign of the reborn American freedom that can be ours, and our children's, and our grandchildren's.

Aggressive wars, income taxes, national IDs, domestic spying, torture regimes, secret prisons, Federal Reserve manipulation -- we don't have to take it any more.

And the next step to not taking it is that $1 million goal. Please give https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/ as much as you can, before midnight on Sunday, September 30th.

There are two reasons:

1) We need the money. As we move into the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, then South Carolina, California, Texas, and all the rest, we need your support. We can’t duplicate the spending of the big boys, and we don’t have to, thanks to the internet and our magnificent army of volunteers.

But we need constant website improvements, phone banks, voter registration and get out the vote efforts, mailings, travel, printings, many small offices, targeted TV and radio ads, legal and accounting help, and 101 other things. And without donors like you, we can't do a darn thing.

2) I want to make the mainstream media sit up and take notice. They did when we beat John McCain for cash-on-hand in the last quarter. This quarter, we can really shock them -- if you help. Our total can show the sort of enthusiasm, organization, and grassroots support that will chill every big-government backer, and warm the heart of every lover of freedom -- and open the eyes of the media.

Please, help me win a victory for liberty with your most generous gift. You and I are engaged in an historic enterprise. It is growing in power and influence by the day and by the hour. But it will stutter to a stop without people like you. I need your help. Our cause needs your help. We can make $1 million. We can win this thing. Please help me do it. Donate today: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/

Sincerely,

Ron

NONE OF WHICH EXPLAINED WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO WITH THE EXTRA MONEY OR WHY HE NEEDED IT.

I'll ask it again, what did he need an extra 500K that he couldn't do without it to win the primaries?

right now all I see Ron Paul as is a money grubbing politician that doesn't know what to do with his money or he is using it for shady reasons.

I am suprised more liberals don't support Paul..I guess the reason would be that so many liberals are really socialists in disguise.

I been getting his emails too.

If you wonder why he needs the money...it's to be taken seriously in the race. If you expect to get your party nomination you have to show power of funding. Howard Dean is now a big time Dem because of his funding powers. Dr. Paul is hoping to garner attention with his funding. When numbers are released and people see that he is a serious candidate it can only help his campaign. He doesn't even need to spend the money...just collect it.

Not really a bunch don't IMO cause he has a R next to his name. Sad to say my father is the same way. Will only vote dem no matter what. There are those types on both sides.

If he were to run Independent, he might stand a better chance, but I still only think he will siphon votes from republicans.

I'm sorry I guess I just don't see what another 500K would do in that regard. Again, all it is proving is that he is a politician, not a real gaining point for me.

It's probably because liberals aren't economic conservatives and are social liberals. Paul is an economic conservative (even though it's technically an economic liberal), and a relatively social liberal who simply doesn't think liberal social ideas should be legalized, meaning things such as anti-discrimination laws would be gone.

Theres's also the whole getting rid of welfare, epa etc. ideas that he has.

Give me bush over paul.

On a side note I found that saying that can make libertarians go insane. I said that and someone became so passionate that they ranted for 20 minutes and had their hands flailing around half the time.
