It seems that OJ Simpson, perhaps the most infamous wife killer in US history, has stepped into a puddle of legal poop again.

Think that he'll get a high priced defense lawyer like last time? Not likely.

Please remember O.J. was acquitted of murder charges. If your personal property was stolen and a friend called you to let you know, what would you do? Simpson feels betrayed by the police, although the wisest move would have been to call them before taking the matters into his own hands. Let us not judge him until the facts are known.

Kind of off topic, but a couple of questions.

If he didn't actually have his hand on the gun, does the law consider him to just as guilty as if he did?

How in the hell did people get guns past the hotel security?

Why would people bring guns to a wedding?

lily,
I am not a lawyer...but
if you participate in a robbery where a gun was used as coercion you can be charged with armed robbery.
The guns were brought into a hotel. No metal detectors.
He was at the wedding after the incident.
I hope that helps.

I wonder how long it will take for the racial element to raise it's ugly head?

Simpson is looking at a maximum penalty of three to 35 years per count if convicted, or, as Roger put it during a press conference Sunday afternoon: “He is facing a lot of time.”Thats for 6 counts. 6x35=210 years.

The radio news said its 9 counts, a few minutes ago.

That's GREASE, Lily!! It's Athens, TEXIZ. That's what passes for culture over there. The Texas Redneck games include Spam and jalapeno eating contests, drinking Tabasco sauce, wet tee shirt contests for women and men, swimming in hog wallows, and lots of tractor pulls. The following facts are relevant:

1. O.J. was found not guilt of murder.

2. The second trial was overkill because his sister-in-law was rejected in favor of her sister and the sister wanted revenge.

3. Goldman's family wants revenge because their son dared to get into the mix even though O.J. and his wife were divorced and she was entitled to date whom she pleased.

4. O.J. is not only a black man, but a rich black man.

5. According to reports, the owner of the place contacted O.J. and notified him his personal property was in the process of sale, so O.J. did not initiate the action.

6. The personal property of O.J. was not included among the items to be sold to cover costs incurred during the second trial, therefore it was O.J.'s personal property.

7. Who stole O.J.'s personal property?

8. O.J. was the last to enter the room in Las Vegas and was unarmed.

9. Since when are people held liable because of actions of their friends?

10. O.J. was questioned without the presence of his attorney in violation of the Miranda law.

A friend of O.J. Simpson's says he helped Simpson plan the confrontation that led to the alleged armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas this weekend.

Tom Riccio says he and Simpson went over details about an hour before the vigilante-style raid and Riccio says he taped his meeting with Simpson — a poor-quality recording acquired by ABC News.

Simpson can be heard saying he wanted to recover his memorabilia in Nevada, away from the family of the murdered Ron Goldman, who have a lien on most of Simpson's earnings.

"There was no real plan. There was some memorabilia that belonged to him that was stolen and he was just gonna go pick it up," Riccio said.

"O.J. was gonna identify the items as being his, and tell 'em he wanted 'em back or we were gonna call the police."

While Simpson was not carrying a gun, Riccio says the former gridiron star was the one behind the raid.

Simpson was in Las Vegas to serve as the best man in the wedding of golfing buddy Thomas Scotto.

Walter Alexander, who also went to the wedding and was arrested in connection with the robbery, said that he believes Simpson was set up.

"Because the whole thing was recorded," Alexander told ABC News' "Good Morning America." "Sounds like a setup to me."

Prosecutors charge O.J. Simpson and three others

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- Prosecutors on Tuesday filed numerous criminal
charges against former NFL star O.J. Simpson and three other men in
connection with an alleged armed robbery at a Las Vegas hotel last week.

Jailed former football star and actor O.J. Simpson is due to appear in court
Wednesday.

The 11 charges include two counts of first-degree kidnapping with use of a
deadly weapon; two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon; and two counts of
assault with a deadly weapon.

Prosecutors say Simpson and his co-defendants -- Walter Alexander, Clarence
Stewart and Michael McClinton -- committed kidnapping because they intended
to hold or detain the two alleged victims using a weapon.

One of the alleged victims, Bruce Fromong, suffered a major heart attack and
was in critical condition Tuesday at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the
hospital said.

Fromong, 53, was admitted to the hospital Monday night and is in the
intensive care unit, according to a hospital statement.

O.J. posts bail!

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A judge set bail Wednesday at $125,000 for O.J. Simpson for the former football star's alleged role in the armed robbery of sports memorabilia collectors at a Las Vegas hotel. His attorney said he expected him to be released within hours and return to Florida.
Simpson, standing in a blue jail uniform and handcuffs, furrowed his brow as the judge read the list of charges against him.

He answered quietly in a hoarse voice and nodded as Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure Jr. laid out restrictions for his release, including surrendering his passport to his attorney and having no contact with co-defendants or potential witnesses. He did not enter a plea.

Unlike Simpson's arraignment over a decade ago in the 1994 killings of his ex-wife and her friend Ron Goldman, when Simpson declared he was "absolutely 100 percent not guilty," he was subdued throughout the proceeding Wednesday.

"Mr. Simpson do you understand the charges against you?" the judge asked.

"Yes, sir," Simpson responded.

Simpson's attorney Yale Galanter said after the hearing that the bond was reasonable and had already been arranged.

"We expect Mr. Simpson to be processed and released fairly quickly," he said. "He's relieved. This has been a very harrowing experience for him."

Security at the courthouse was tight for the arraignment hearing. People entering the courtroom were screened by security officers and Las Vegas police with bomb-sniffing dogs.

The case attracted a swarm of media, including Marcia Clark, who unsuccessfully prosecuted Simpson for the 1994 murders and was reporting for "Entertainment Tonight."

Simpson, 60, was arrested Sunday after a collector reported a group of armed men charged into his hotel room at the Palace Station casino and took several items that Simpson claimed belonged to him. He has been held since then in protective custody in a 7-foot-by-14-foot cell.

"These are very serious charges," Galanter told NBC earlier Wednesday. "He is taking it very seriously."

... "white folk" in the prison system. I never knew the judicial system had to maintain an even ballance beteeen "whites & blacks in prison:exclamation: I learned something today:clapper:[/u]

Actually there are no innocent white people, they are all guilty of being white.

Whites must pay for the history of slavery in perpetuity, even though thousands of them fought and died to end it.
Oh, well.

Ah........so now I know why not too many people read the Post. That article read like a cheap romance novel. Lantern jawed?

Could it have happened? Probably. Do I care? Not too much. Should his girlfriend know what's probably in store for her.......you betcha!

The man, and I'm using the noun 'man' loosely, should be in the joint for life.

The OJ story is just an excuse by the media not to talk about real issues facing America. Seriously, who really give a fuck about OJ Simpson. He got played out years ago.

Should he be in prison? Sure. But, he isn't... The justice system you all say works so damn well apparently worked perfectly fine that time and it didn't give you the result you expected. Hey... join the real world where justice is a rare commodity and for the poor works the opposite direction resulting in too many innocent people behind bars.

So..he's free... live with it.

I have little real sympathy for the women who get with him either. They know all the details. They do it anyway. What can you do about it? Nothing.

Do you think this same scenario doesn't play out with thousands of other domestically violent men and women, even those who murder? Its does. Its far more common that you think.

But, as a lead story or anything of note to take up anything more than a brief acknowledgement that there he goes again kind of thing, I think is just a waste of time.
Yet... here I am commenting on the damn thing anyway..... :help:
