Take this test and then show us your chart and score. Let's see where everyone is on the political spectrum. I've taken this one before and I got the same score last time. I love being with these three great human beings.

http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

Economic Left/Right: -5.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.08

I'm with Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama. :D[hr]Here's an interesting chart. It shows where the candidates are on the spectrum.

You're right there with the Democratic candidates. Are you voting Dem? Looks like you're closest to Dodd and Richardson.

I guess I'm supposed to vote for Kucinich or Gravel. LOL! My Dad likes Gravel. I'm going to have to stick with Obama.

A little bit more moderate than in the past. I was up in the 7's and 8's at one time.

Typo, my social libertarian score was much lower than what I initially wrote [which was based on the last time I took the test, which was a while ago].

He's a partyless goldwater republican who's squatting with the libertarians. I don't think he's obfuscated that fact.

I'm going to work harder to become more liberal. Kos, here I come!

I'd really like to see everybody take this. This means you too Stoner and Clay. Whats the matter? Don't like that you are right spot on with Hitler on the chart?

Guess I am more left wing and libertarian than Gandhi, Mandela or Dalai Lama. But that'd be because I have less faith in institutionalised religion than they do and more suspicious of big corporations than they are.

The questions that troubled me are:
1) No one can feel naturally homosexual: I clicked "disagree" but did not know the correct answer, and did not have a strong gut feeling. I could've easily clicked "agree".

2) It's fine for society to be open about sex, but these days it's going too far: Again I did not have a strong opinion on this issue, since society is not really homogeneous, and standards vary from region to region, especially continent to continent.

3) A same sex couple in a stable, loving relationship, should not be excluded from the possibility of child adoption: This was by far the hardest question I found. On one side, if the couple were mentally stable, caring and responsible, there would be an inclination in my mind to give them equal opportunity as anybody else. On the other side, I do not really know if the child would be affected in his thinking, for not having a female among the couple that raises him. If I knew the answer, then the answer would depend on child's best interest, rather than the adopting couple. In short, the child takes precedence over the adults. Nonetheless, I found this question troubling and difficult to confront.

4) Some people are naturally unlucky: This was somewhat dificult. I disagreed, since mathematically, one has an equal chance of being lucky or unlucky. But, some folks do seem more unlucky than others. Anyhow, I disagreed.

5) You cannot be moral without being religious: This one made me laugh, and was a no brainer. I "strongly disagreed". I have a strong suspecion that the stauncher a person's religious belief is, more likely he is to be immoral from a secular viewpoint. This is possibly one point where my answer would have differered from Gandhi or Mandela, though Dalai Lama is, according to me, more scientifically inclined and secular in his thinking that almost any other religious head or spiritual guru that I know of.

Another observation I made while taking this test, is that it is likely a lot easier to click on an answer that "feels" morally responsible, than to actually act on it in real life. In other words, the graph likely points me more left and more down, than I am lifely to be in real life.

Interesting test though.
Cheers

You guys scare me all the way over there on the right, you libertar-anarchists.

So where's nevadamedic, stoner, uncle, preservanation? I want to know if they actually end up, up there in the blue where they seem to be in discussions on this board.
