He's a nutcase. You may like him for his views on the war, but he's anti u.n., welfare, department of education, civil rights laws etc. He's not necessarily anti the goal of those things, but he's against any government involvement in them. Bush and paul are opposites on many social issues, but bush tries to push things with no chance of passing, and paul wants to do nothing. In the end it's the same.

It a sad, sad, sad reflection on this country when the only person who believes in Constitutional government is oftentimes called 'out of the mainstream', 'unelectable' and a 'nutjob'.
Also, the use of 'civil rights laws' is misleading, Zo. Paul believes in equality before the law. He does not believe in Affirmative Action or 'hate crime' legislation.
Also, how do you feel about 15% of our population being 'nutcases?'

30% still support bush, i'd say 15 is low.

Almost 1/5 people are libetarian nutcases...That sounds good to me. Regardless, the notion that libertarianism is a fringe ideology is a myth.

I don't really doubt that a good percentage of americans are crazy. But Cato is not identifying those who identify as libertarian. A lot of people hold some libertarian beliefs, or like the concept, but most don't want to give up all the government involvement in running the country. Labrocca is a good example of that.
Though Cato would seem to have reason to inflate the amount of libertarians, especially given their own leanings.
