That people on the political left have a certain set of opinions, just as people do in other parts of the ideological spectrum, is not surprising. What is surprising, however, is how often the opinions of those on the left are accompanied by hostility and even hatred.

Particular issues can arouse passions here and there for anyone with any political views. But, for many on the left, indignation is not a sometime thing. It is a way of life.

How often have you seen conservatives or libertarians take to the streets, shouting angry slogans? How often have conservative students on campus shouted down a visiting speaker or rioted to prevent the visitor from speaking at all?

The source of the anger of liberals, "progressives" or radicals is by no means readily apparent. The targets of their anger have included people who are non-confrontational or even genial, such as Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.

It is hard to think of a time when Karl Rove or Dick Cheney has even raised his voice but they are hated like the devil incarnate.

Looking at what Dems want - higher taxes, government run health care, surrender and appeasement to terrorists, liberal judges who make law from the bench, and government oversight of CEO pay - is not what I want

You know your right, im looking at the direction our country is going in and I cant believe my frickin eyes. We have our Democratic officials takeing kickbacks and bribes and hiding it in their freezer, we have a Democratic Governor who was having extramarital affairs with guys in his office at shady motels at the tax payers expense, we have Democratic leaders involved in shady lobbying deals. We have Republican Senators getting escorts, we have Republican leaders involved in the same Lobbying scandals and bribes as the Democrats and it is getting sickening.

Then neither side can get along for the greater good. They cant get a simple god damn job done because they would rather shoot attacks across political lines. In some cases it has come to punches. What kind of message are we sending to our enemies and terrorists when they see that our own Government can't get along with itself. You have Senators bashing eachother, you have Congressmen and women attacking everyone, you have both Senators and Congressmen and women taking shots at our President and Vice Preisdent which should not be allowed under any President. It is probably like watching an episode of Saturday Night Live to our enemies and it makes me sick.

I am losing hope. I don't think we have more then a few good honest polititians left out there and it pisses me off. Sure I am sure they all start out there and want to be on the straight and narrow but Washington gets to them, they give into the greed, power and sin. It is disgusting. That is why we need term limits on the Congressmen and women and Senators. Why can't we wipe the slate clean and keep the very few that actually are for the American people and bring in everyone else who would actually be for us and when they start to screw up we pull them.

We also shouldn't have to wait 6 years for a re-election of a Senator that is Bullshit, it should be 2-4 years. If we elect a real bozo were screwed as the only way to get them out of office is the Senate has to impeach him.

If our fourfathers could see what is going on today they would shit themselves and call for a revolution.

This is what you get for believing that the source of the problem lies in method. You need to go deeper into the philosophical core of society to see the real flaws. When people treat it like this politics serves only as a distraction from the real problems.

Their method is simple....to rule. They want power, and with access to the big treasury, the taxes from people who make society work, they can assure themselves of a long life in office by buying votes with other people's money. The government is too big to ever be efficient, no matter who runs it, but power feels better to Dems if they have the whole thing, not the local governments and states, but the whole thing. To get the control, they simply use verbal attacks instead of reasoned debates, so the people who won't take the time to understand what it is all about will simply parrot the abuse and pay for it all in the end.

Yea, I see the warm and fuzzy liberals wishing death for Tony Snow and Justice Roberts. Storming the stage at a college so the Minutemen could not speak, the Daily Kos preventing a man in the military from speaking about the success in Iraq, and their attempts to silence conservative talk radio because they disagree with them

Well, I'm only glad we support those liberal judges because without them the south would still be segregated. We must never leave the power to judge those who are different(the minority..IE: african americans in the 1950s) in the hands of the angry mob(the majority..IE: southern whites in the 1950s). Social conservatism promotes bigotry.

Well there's one republican who doesn't have blinders on. More than I can say for the rest of you. I agree with everything you say here except that other politicians should not be able to criticise the president and VP. Those guys are seriously in need of criticism. Some of their actions are completely wrong.

Umm.. I think the cities do pay more and get less? Again, I'm without proof. I did some googling but didnt find anything.
