The IMF has an image of being a lifeline to countries in need, but this closer look provides information that will blow you away.

In short...After WWII The world's elite agreed to dismember their global empires, knowing smaller countries wouldnt last long. They created the IMF and World bank to be there when those countries needed help. They would loan money, BUT with stipulations...stipulations that cripple those countries governments and economies.

Without watching the documentary, I will say that the World Bank has done little to help smaller countries while it has done a lot to enrich the banking community in it's 50 or so years of existence. It is the reach of corporatism into the arties of government that is so troubling and that it hasn't helped the world's poor make their standard of living any better. It's just helped the Big Money Boys.

Yup, it has done less than little. The documentary shows just how nefarious and shameless big corporations can be.

Never read it, but I hear it's a good book. This is another example of why you don't let governments or government affiliated entities control money. By definition, there has to be a political agenda behind it.
