Hello everyone. I am new to this forum but not to forums in general.
I also post on Democrats.Com and DU and I am proud to say, Sean Hannity has barred me for posting at all.
I spent 45 years as a broadcast journalist working at independent stations and two networks as anchor and field reporter. I was also a stringer for CNN (before it morphed), BBC, CBC and Radio Australia.
I have just completed my first book and working on my second. In my spare time, I am working on my immitation of a slug, complete with silver trail while sitting around and wondering how I got so old so fast.
I have a wife and two grown children.

Funny how you mention that you were a broadcast journalist working on an immitation of a slug.
I thought the two were synonymous and required no immitation.
Welcome.
BTW, I sold advertising time for network affiliates for 10 years. Yet I'm still no fan of network news organizations. I'm proud to say I never sold time in any of the nightly network news organizations. Since there's no inventory for affiliates to sell in that programming I wasn't slacking :).
All the networks you mentioned? Garbage.
At least you didn't claim you were a writer for the LAT, WaPo or NYT. Then I'd have to accuse you of being a traitor instead of a slug.
I look forward to destroying your viewpoints.

Good to see new members. Though don't worry about PAD, he's actually not that bad when he remembers to take his pills.

Thanks but after 45 years in the business, and I might add, before the Bush Administration, the kind of journalism I practiced was in the style of Edward R Murrow, John Daly, Douglas Edwards and Huntley/Brinkley.
Besides, I would never welcome someone to any forum with a slur against that person and the way he spent his career, especially if I didnt know anything about him.
So, instead, I will thank Mr Pittsburgh After Dark for his warm greeting, and ask which charm school did he drop out of.:D

Well, there are some who call Californ ia "The Left Coast". My answer to that is simply....look who is Governor here. Mr I'll Be Bahk!. The Governator and other such names. California had had a continuing stream of Democratic and Republican Governors, Mayors and Members of Congress so trying to categorize this region is difficult. San FRancisco is primarily Democratic, Liberal or Progressive. Los Angeles is pretty well mixed as is evidenced by the lineup of Mayors we have had and rural counties in the state run the gamut from red to blue to purple.
But, whatever the color, thats where I am and I am having a wonderful life, despite the earthquakes every once in a while.

Greetings, Newscaster!Â*Â*I think I might have found a kindred soul here.Â*Â*I've spent a couple of decades in the Middle East Intelligence field and am now enjoying an early pseudo-retirement and watching with amazement as Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld screw up Iraq.
I was interested to see that you post to DU.Â*Â*I did also, but found ideology high and reason low over there.Â*Â*If they can't figure out why they keep getting beat, all hope is lost for them.
