This may have to be moved to the war section but i'm not sure.

If you are a die hard christian, i don't understand how you can join the army and kill people. In the bible (i'm not quoting) it says you shouldn't kill another man (or in this case a women either). It shouldn't matter if it's for the right cause, because it's still killing a person.

If you are the attacker of course this is a major sin. But not for the soldier; the commander is guilty. The soldier kills but he is forced by his duty (you may say 'Well, but why he chose to be a soldier?' It is not a sin to be a soldier because you may be attacked and then it is not a sin to kill the attacker (of course if he intends to kill you).
The army is for defense. I don't think that anybody would join the army to become an aggresor (I mean nobody with a solid faith).

This can stay here, It is more about beliefs than war.

The soldier has the choice to disobey.
