Need intelligent discussion!

I have been involved in middle eastern affairs since 1976, as uniformed military, civil service and academia/consultant.Â*Â*I have never spent much time on sites like this because I've found that they attract more bomb-throwers than thoughtful, reasonable people, but I've seen some interesting posts here.
Islamofascism is a threat to our culture, but sometimes our reaction is just as dangerous.Â*Â*The people most interested in "wiping out the muslims" are the ones most ignorant of who they are fighting, and that is very dangerous.Â*Â*If you want to fight Islamic terror the way you fought the Nazis, you will lose.Â*Â*Or, as my old CO said recently, "Just because you are a veteran doesn't mean you know s*** about strategy".

Glad to see someone with some experience in the Middle East. You are right, forums like this usually attract the radicals of both sides.

Many people don't understand the idea of Islamofascism and think we are at war with all Muslims. chesswars is a prime example. Most of the people in the Middle East don't approve of Al Qaeda.

As the forum/site owner I welcome you and any intelligent discussion. I am attempting to mold this into something where many can debate but without personal attacks. I am hoping this site can be one of the most civil debate sites for politics around.
