Here are a few links to what is going on right now and it really does frighten me to think a communist nation like China is rapidly stealing our secrets.

Several recent Chinese spy cases highlight the problem of Beijing's spying, including the case of Los Angeles businesswoman Katrina Leung, a longtime informant for the FBI who was later accused of secretly working for China's intelligence service, the Ministry of State Security.
Another Chinese spy ring was recently highlighted by the case of Chinese-born defense contractor Chi Mak, who was convicted of passing embargoed U.S. defense technology to China. Several of his relatives also were linked to the compromise of U.S. Navy technology to China.

This one is about buisness.
A Durham company contends a former scientist stole trade secrets and funneled them to two Chinese companies that used the information in overseas patent applications for a cancer treatment.
I know to some this info may not suprise you because nation's everywhere do this type of thing but it is getting me a bit afraid because for what other purpose would the chinese need this their not fighting the koreans or japanese right now. I'd be suprised that china would start a war but everytime i hear this type of news it makes me wonder.

First it was that we will all be forced to speak German, then it was Russian and Chinese, then Arabic and prayer rugs. Are we going back to Chinese again? :D

To be perfectly honest, it didn't sound like you wished to debate an issue - it just seemed like you started a thread to bash China. Which is probably what a few other members thought too, hence the responses. ;)
That little bit of business aside though, I'm curious to see why you wish to flog a dead horse. This issue of "China stealing this and that" has been going on for ages, and there isn't really any substantial proof that they did steal anything. Granted, absence of proof doesn't necessarily mean proof of absence, but it does make it harder to back the accusation up.
Oh, and whats up with all you guys using online language translators to type Chinese? :-D

It's because the aforementioned threats that we will all be speaking German/Chinese/Russian/Arabic if we don't go and bomb so and so didn't happen so we have to use it. :D

It may be a matter of the fact that communism in China is a dying issue. China and the US will be rivals, to be sure, but it isn't a matter of ideology nearly so much as it is the strong capitalist movement in China these days. Chinese citizens are enjoying unprecedented wealth and access to consumer goods. A natural corollary of that would be that the Chinese military would get a boost in its budget as well.
I have other things to worry about than looking for communists under my bed every night before I go to sleep. Furthermore, it seems to me that you may simply be complaining because most of us don't accept your original premise that the real potential enemy is filthy, nasty communism, but China itself as a world power. But I'd prefer to avoid hostilities with China. A peaceful world is a much better place to live in.

Well said. Communism is indeed dead in China these days - as anyone whose been to China as of late would testify. China's economy is anything BUT communist these days. . .
And, all powerful countries will certainly boost their military spending once they reach a certain level, so nothing unusual about what China is doing. A strong army is a pre-requisite to becoming a true superpower.

Yeah, I think its ridiculus when people say things like this. No one is going to be conquering the US for a very long time (although, us being forced to speak Spanish is more likely).
These statements always remind when of when I was in Monterey at the Defense Language Institute and I saw the different t-shirts they have there. My favorite:
"We learn Serbo-Croation...so you don't have to." I laugh a little everytime I think of it.
