When the Democrats win two thirds of both houses, as well as putting Evita in the White House, they will tell us all to keep some of what we earn for ourselves. As for me, I cannot wait for the joyous news that part of what I earn is mine to spend. However, we will still have to give some to the States, Counties, Cities and districts offering government services. Regardless, they tell us we can spend the rest any way we like, just as long as it does not support churches or talk shows who offend government and the Democrats. When we are through celebrating this message of good fortune, we still have to figure out how to pay ordinary living costs.

Actually no one is paying for the war at this point. We are borrowing the money from China and Saudi Arabia. Or children and grandchildren will have to pay for it, plus interest. Their lives will be much less prosperous than ours because most of their taxes will go to pay the interest on the record debt Bush is leaving them.

The war is not taking our property by taxation. The war is not in the budget. The war is funded by appropriations bills w/ borrowed money, every so often like the one that they have recently been fighting over. Our taxes go to school, police, fire dept, roads, bridges, libraries, congressional payrolls, Bush's pharma entitlement, welfare, medicare, building a wall between the US and mexico, immigration agents etc....

Silly straw man. It was you who blamed democrats for all spending just a few posts ago and now you're trying to argue that republicans are NOT to blame for all spending.. If I recall my history, and as some of you know, I cannot, FDR was a Democrat and he spent a lot of money fighting those nice guys, you know, Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo, when he would have been much better off giving it all to those who earned less than, say, Bill gates. And further, why are the governments at all levels spending money to fight crime, after all, criminals are people too? Wouldn't it be better if we were all Quakers and stood our ground until the Canadians came down and slaughtered us? So much more liberal of us to do that. Right....er, excuse me, Left?
