What are the root explanations for our political differences? First, we ask if community interests trump self-interests. Here is the basis of turmoil in our world. Which is most important, individual legitimate self-interest or the interests of the community? The security and happiness in one’s family, the smallest community, usually determines how far the provider goes in pursuit of personal interests. Extending to the immediate community and beyond is a different story. The full community, as a tribe located in a threatening environment, makes individuals look more to the survival of the tribe, of which the family is part. With no threats to the tribe, and no obnoxious rulers, opportunity is open to each individual to pursue their own interests. If successful, their prosperity gives prosperity to their families, and prosperous families generate prosperous communities. This balance of interests shaped America. The balance had tilted to favor freedom, family and individuals, which accounts for America’s prosperity. Liberals want us to tilt it the other way, toward fulfilling the needs of community, nation and world, and restrict the freedom of individuals to chase their dreams apart from community. The balance shifts to anthill mentality.

Wouldn't you say making war around the globe would be an example of global and/or community interest?

I assume you are speaking about the Kali-worshipping Islamocrats making war all over the globe representing their community interests of total domination by the mullahs. Or, are you suggesting that defending the rights of people to pursue their own interests free of rotten dictators is making war? In short, are you identifying with the dictators and condemning America for being proactive in its own defense?

Did you completely forget your previous post in your reply? You are talking now about "america's interests" so I assume you are agreeing that this is a case of community or global interest, and thus would be against your philosophy?

I guess it would be like foreign aid, in that sometimes it is cheaper to buy them some food than send an army in to fight them because they are pissed enough at us to lob missiles and send terrorists. It depend on what you are willing to pay to defend yourself, lives and treasure at war or blackmail as handouts, like we do supposedly to keep the voters voting democrat by hand-outs.

I don't even agree that Iraq was a threat before we went in there and messed everything up. Why should I be taxed for an imperialist road trip that I have no part in? Why can't we have a war fund, and 300 million americans can send in $400 a year to fund 120 billion/yr war. Supposing you can find 300 million americans who think this war is worth 400 dollars.

Why don't we just surrender and let them come over here and impose their will on us, thereby not making it necessary for you to defend your home and the people you love. That would be so much easier.

Impose their will.. you mean like the last 100+ years in the middle east? I think you live in bizarro world if you are worried about muslims imposing rule on the west. Look around buddy, that entire region has been sculpted by western powers.

This tired schtick about living under islamic law here in america every time someone thinks a certain war is a bad idea is so immature. You use it so much I'm starting to believe it's not actually sarcasm -- you really think they/I/we would do it!

I mean why don't you insult my manhood, impugn my patriotism, AND question my sexuality so that you and I will have a good crowd when we meet behind the track after homeroom to settle it once and for all!

Some people just have to run and hide and hope that reality will never find them and kick them in the butt. Some people use alcohol and others use drugs to hide from the world around them, and you use fantasy. Good luck on finding a safe place to hide.
