Well, what'd everyone think?
In my view, that might have been the wost debate I've ever seen. I've never seen more questions poorly evaded, more BS spewed and more nonsequiturs uttered in my life. In my view there were no winners, only those who lost the least.
John Edwards' talk of "free" college education for all and "free" universal health care was made even more laughable when he said tax raises wouldn't be necessary to pay them.
Hillary was asked 5 yes-or-no questions, she answered one of them with a yes or no answer but only after being pushed by Wolf Blitzer.
Obama is nothing but fluff, I've said it for 2 years, he's only been confirming it in his campaign.
Richardson is by far the least intelligent of the 8, enough said.
Biden is a distant second, he tripped himself up after blasting the proposed border fence and then stuttering for a few seconds after Blitzer asked him why then did he vote for it.

Overall just pathetic, it's scary to me that one of those 8 will have a 50-50 shot at the Presidency.

I thought they were all excellent. All but that wacky old man from Alaska. Although he does bring some truth to the show. Biden was great. He would make a good strong President. I still am hoping for a Hillary/Barack ticket ;)

Viola, I'm curious, what part of their performance made them all "amazing"? I don't have a dog in the Democratic fight [and realistically, I don't have one in the Republican fight either] but I trully believed that the 8 Democrats on that stage last night all performed horrendously? So I'm curious as to what you thought they did well?

I can't wait to see the Republicans debate. When is that airing?

Tommorow on CNN at seven o' clock. Maybe this time the moderators will ask Dr. Paul more than 5 questions [4 of which pertained to Iraq]. I won't hold my breath.

They spoke passionately about some issues and touched on others that we Democrats deem as important. Ending the war, health care, campaign finance reform, saving the middle class, solving the deficit, Diplomacy to solve the Iran and NK problems, and one thing so important that the Repubs never mention, gathering up our allies to mend all the fences around the world that Bush has broken. They also mentioned all the lies we've been told in the past 6 years, and my favorite one of all restoring our constitutional rights that the Bush admin have violated.

These are the issues that inspire. I don't think the Republicans mentioned these things in their last two debates.

If it's on FNC...Will the libs watch?
They had one on MSNBC and one on FNC.

The Dems refuse to debate on FOX because they can't stand not dictating what the questions will be. Stupid, IMO, not only Conservatives watch FOX or it wouldn't have the numbers it does. The Dems should reach out...not hide. Why do they do that?

Viola,
From what I saw they offered rhetoric [some of which didn't square with reality: no tax cuts but universal health care and universal college education...ooookay], avoided 90% of the questions they were asked and kept bringing up the President. They're not running against the President and it's about time the Democratic Party realizes this and offers some concrete ideas instead of pretty rhetoric like "free" healthcare [which is a misnomer] without higher taxes.
