The recently elected Democratic Congress and Executive, and Judiciary branch of government, have united to support the Compassionate America Act of 2009. This law sets aside the first ten amendments to the constitution to enable each person to assimilate into American community. It gives everyone an equal share in its benefits. The law eliminates discriminatory hate speech from print, radio and television commentary, as well as pulpits that incite hatred of the differences between how people think and behave. It accepts all immigrants to America with no discrimination as to receiving the benefits of citizenship. It will relieve people from keeping firearms. Hate speech inciters will not be able to secure their homes and papers from legitimate search and seizure, or avoid self-incrimination. Government will be able to adjust circumstances of its people to assure an equality of life for all, each sharing equally in the material benefits of America. Is this not what everyone has fought hard to achieve?

I googled "compassionate American Act." It's clearly a figment of Barham's twisted imagination. And yes, I realize he's trying to be ironic. But as I've noted frequently on this forum, conservatives just don't know how to do irony. Sarcasm they can do OK, but irony requires a sense that just seems to be beyond them. Sorry, Clay. Try again!

I hate to confuse you, but two things have not yet happened. First, it is not 2009 and second, the Dems have not yet secured the White House and a majority of congress. When those two things happen, someone will surely come up with the Compassionate America Act of 2009. Yes, a twisted mind indeed thinks of such things as this, by extending the "logic" of what is being proposed on the 2008 campaign trail.

Beware any proposed law with a warm and fuzzy sounding title.

All Bills introduced in Congress have warm and fuzzy titles that make them look inviting, until someone turns the page.

"The Fuzzy Happy Bunny Tree Friends act of 2009."

Look out...It'll probably shave the bunnies and cut down the trees in the process after it is enacted.

You mean, cut the trees so Bill Clinton can get his picture taken with the Grand Canyon behind him, as the great environmentalist?

e.g. Patriot Act
Free Trade Acts

Don't forget the second amendment and the first, because it allows people who do not agree with you to speak their mind and even carry a gun. That is a sure prescription for collapse of the whole world. Imagine, people speaking their minds and expressing their opinions. How downright awful of us.
