What do YOU think about "Illegal immegrants taking our jobs?"

The questions presumes that illegals are taking jobs Americans wouldn't do. I think that logic is flawed. The reason why Americans don't do jobs illegals are doing is because...illegals are doing them. Americans aren't willing to work for illegally low wages, illegal immigrants are. If jobs that are currently paying illegal immigrants paid minimum wage, you'd see Americans doing them. So again, the question presumes a false condition.

Perhaps I did a bad job of phrasing my question. I mean just ordinary low-paying jobs that most americans say that immegrants are taking away from them, construction working, lawnmowing, etc.

You are absolutely correct. There are no jobs Americans are not willing to do, including making the world safe for Democracy. IMO, the problem lies with Mexico, not us.
Furthermore, what happens when these low wage workers are able to join unions and demand a higher wage? More low wage illegals will pour over the boarder once again. This is a very bad cycle we are seeking to perpetuate.

Incidentally, those poll questions are bogus and dishonest. I refuse to vote.

Over time, immigrants create many more jobs than they quote/unquote "take". After all, something like 65% of new business startups in recent years have been started by immigrant owners.

Yes, "immigrants", firefox, not "illegal immigrants". I have no problem with legal immigrants who do create jobs and are an important part of the economy. It's those who break the law to get into this country that I have a problem with and I don't buy into the fact that they are doing jobs Americans wouldn't do at any wage.
