I was a firefighter for 11 years until I couldn't do it any more. I think starting backfires pretty well is self-explanatory. If someone really needs to be taught about how it works, they should be down in the floor playing with matches learning whaz hot and whaz not...

2. Here's the problem.
3. There's a huge fire burning out of control.
4. Instead of working to douse the fire, you go around making fires.
5. That's dumb as hell.
6. Its like going to have surgery on your foot, but before the surgeon starts cutting on your foot, he decides to go in at your chest, and do a look about.
7. Its just stupid, and I want it banned from practice forever!

Backfiring: A tactic used in wildland firefighting associated with indirect attack, by intentionally setting fire to fuels inside the control line. Most often used to contain a rapidly spreading fire, placing control lines at places where the fire can be fought on the firefighter's terms.
In terms you might understand chess.. they are setting smaller controlled burns ahead of the fire to prevent it from going past that point. If the fire has nothing to consume there, it won't spread past that area. You know nothing about this so just stop typing please. Fool.
