In very dangerous situations, like when a country is in the middle of a war so the enemy can't get vital information. Otherwise, generally it can't be justified.

to censor a society begins the decline of that society. you cannot kurb mankinds nature to learn and ask questions, to investigate! you end up stifleing the natural growth and development.

I think censorship of some form can be acceptable, but you're walking a fine line. It can very easily become excessive, and rapidly diminish trust within the society. I agree with Stannis.

My two cents? Government censorship: No. Private censorship: I don't like it, but it's not my property.
