ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A man who was beaten by employees of a store he was trying to rob is now suing.

Police said Dana Buckman entered the AutoZone in Rochester, N.Y., last July, brandished a semi-automatic pistol and demanded cash.

That's when employees Eli Crespo and Jerry Vega beat him with a pipe and held Buckman at bay with his own gun.

Buckman escaped when they retreated into the store to call 911, but he was arrested a week later. He pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and was sentenced to 18 years in prison as a repeat violent felon.

Now, Buckman is suing the auto parts store and the two employees who beat him, claiming they committed assault and battery and intentionally inflicted emotional distress.

 lol... I love it.

When you are in prison for 18 years you have nothing better to do but screw the justice system.

A "repeat violent felon" suing because he was beaten by his victims. Kinda makes you wonder if he realizes how much "emotional distress" he has inflicted on his victims during his career.

The sad part is, it's entirely possible that he could win something like that. Only in America. [/sarcasm]

Its like the guy who robbed Tony Martin in the UK, Tony Martin shot the guy, and the burglar sued him for loss of earnings, and won.

Its pathectic that a "justice" system allows this.

That's why you just shoot 'em dead. Then they can't sue. I've been told this by law enforcement (at least here in Texas). But I agree that our justice system is pretty much broken when criminals can sue their victims, and they have more rights than I do.
