Now this is extremely cool, Dr. Stephen Hawking gets to experience weightlessness.

Astrophysicist Stephen Hawking floats on a zero-gravity jet, Thursday, April 26, 2007. The modified jet carrying Hawking, a handful of his physicians and nurses, and dozens of others first flew up to 24,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean off Florida. Nurses lifted Hawking and carried him to the front of the jet, where they placed him on his back atop a special foam pillow. The plane made a total of eight parabolic dips, including two during which Hawking made two weightless flips like 'a gold-medal gymnast,' said Peter Diamandis, chairman of Zero Gravity Corp., the company that owns the jet.

Anyone want to take a stab at making funny captions for that pic?

I don't. I have too much respect for Dr. Hawking. I'm truly glad he got to go. I finished my second reading of A Brief History of Time a few months ago. Sad to say, I didn't understand it any better than the first time.

But I know that Hawking has a sense of humor about himself. I suspect that no one of lesser character could survive and thrive with ALS as he did. But then, I think very few actually survive any length of time. I've lost two friends to it.

There should be a celebrity roast of Hawking. :)

There should be a celebrity roast of Hawking. :)

Since he lacks the tools for a quick quip, I think the idea of it would be a bit cruel. Celebrity roasts are kind of lame, IMO.

Oh, I'm sorry. You said "funny" captions.

(Eh gads me, that is beneath me.)
